It looks similar to this 1940s Marconi Special.

yes it looks very similar ... however the box does not appear to be steel

Dial is redone.
Rolex signature on case appears to be laser etched.
Rolex signature on the gear appears to be laser etched.

So, in other words whole watch looks like a fake.

The comparable Marconi on ebay appears to be a fake as well. I don't think they even made the Marconi models in the 40's.
