Just for fun
If you had the possibility, financial and relation wise, as Patek does it but in very rare occasions, and only for serious PP collectors who have invested quite a lot on the brand already, to have a unique Patek made out for you, either changes in an existing model or something totally new, what would you ask for?
For me very simple, a 5712P obviously, and with the kind of blue dial as in the 5711P, that would be a stunning watch... |

5327 in platinum with sunburst grey dial, and YELLOW gold markers/hands, with added power reserve, along a lighter brown alligator strap and calatrava clasp in platinum.
Or....the 5550P with ALL the numbers around the moonphase the same size as the "5" and "27". Aaaahhhhhh....to quote Steven Tyler in 1973..... I can only "dream on"..... |

5270a in SS. I'm just really into SS at the moment, I think because it makes my gold pieces shine and wow me even more, loving my 5711r more than ever.

Pilot split second manual wind chrono in steel. Case and dial of the 5524, but with the chrono pushers on the right. The date dial replaced with a 60 minute chrono counter. No date. Water proof to 120 m and quick change composite strap for swimming.

Yes I do, my friend. I might be new to this board, but I've been awing Patek's for a long time, and those "crunched" two numbers really bother me. I cannot fathom why they didn't make ALL those dates the same smaller size, rather than just two of them. In my estimation (not to offend anyone out there who owns 5140's or the 5550P), it looks comical. And considering that the dial of the 5140 is actually larger than the 3940, why did they have to do that? Why couldn't they simply follow suit from the 3940 and enjoy the larger dial of the 5140 with even-sized numbers? I was about to pull the trigger on either the 5550P (I found a new-in-wrapper one, here in the U.S. from an AD) or the 5140-017...but just couldn't adjust to that "error" for such an expensive work of art. And if you look closely enough at the new 5327, it's the same thing.....just not as noticeable, as the size change of the "5" and "27" is very, very subtle. But AGAIN....now we have a dial that's jumped another 2mm to 39mm (compared to the 36mm of the 3940 and the 37 of the 5140), and they STILL have to "crunch" those two numbers (the "5" is more obvious), although very subtly. Why???? Sorry for the rant, but it just seems ridiculous. Just my 2 cents. I do hope that someone from Patek Philippe is reading this. Again, no intention to offend.
