A Lange & Sohne Polishing

Guys,

Just realized that the white gold case on my 1815 is really soft compared to the usual stainless steel case of rolex.
Managed to hit a door knob and cause a scratch on the bezel.
As it is white gold, I think it cannot be easily polish off.
Anyone knows how much will Lange charge to remove the scratch properly? Any other alternatives?

Thanks.

unless you dented it, i would leave it alone. Its polished, not brushed as far as i remember so its very similar to your Rolex PCL which show every stratch imaginable

and yes, your Rolex has a ceramic bezel most likely so not really fair

I dinged my 1815 after a week or two and sold it shortly after lol I feel you. Man is it a beautiful watch though! Gold bezels are tricky.

Your watch will get a lot more scratches and potentially a ding or two while you wear it- its not logical to send it for polishing every time there’s a scratch. When you send your watch for servicing you can have them overhaul the case- unlike other watchmakers, Lange uses laser wielding which prevents metal loss, so don’t worry too much and just enjoy your watch.

One it comes time for service, Lange includes a full case re-finish which includes laser welding to fill any kicks.

Leave it. Wear it. Love it. Service when it is time.

Thanks for all the reply.

It’s such a beautiful watch indeed, making it hard to look at with those scratches.

Guess I have to think of servicing it soon!

I accidentally dropped my Saxonia and tried to catch it with my foot. Instead I ended up drop kicking it across the room and slammed it into the wall... resulted in a pretty big scratch in the bezel. I had the ALS boutique take a look at it and they laser welded the bezel (thankfully the movement and dial was fine) and it ended up being ~$600 with tax for the repair. They did a phenomenal job and it looks like new so I wouldn’t worry about their ability to repair the watch.
