Rolex Prince - different between 971, 1490, 1343?
I m new to the Rolex Prince but really obsessed with it. i have googled but not much info i can find out on the internet.
I know that the 971 / 1490 are using brancard case, while 1343 is classic rectangular. Are all 3 models using the same movements? What is the different between 971 and 1490? |

Yes, use the same movement.
I think the dial design is a little different between the 971 and 1490, around the second dial. |

Same movement as the Gruen Doctor's or Duo-dials, if you are not aware.
Rolex sent the movements to the USA to be cased by Gruen, to avoid paying the very high taxes on gold at the time. |

I read about the Gruen's doctor watch but didn't know they are using the same movement. The tax avoidance part is interesting.
