New to Panerai, interested in Ferrari series, Need input

Hi, I always regretted not getting a Panerai Ferrari power reserve many years ago when its offered it to me. I found a few 8 day power reserve models from 2008-2010 and wanted to know what I should look for and how reliable is the watch? Does Panerai service out of warranty watches and what does a service usually cost. I’m looking at FER00012 and FER00020 any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Yes, they do. Find your nearest boutique and drop it off for service.

Just be aware. The Ferrari Panerai are generally sold for way under retail. More so than almost any other Panerai.

This is exactly what I was thinking as I read the OP. I would highly not recommend paying anywhere near msrp for a Ferrari, you will lose your butt immediately.

To echo what others have said, the Ferrari Panerai's were generally always heavily discounted & secondary market demand was minimal. I haven't looked at/for one in a long time, but even at PAM's peak "hype", I think they were going around $3,500.

For service, I wouldn't send to Richemont; they are from the era when PAM was using/modifying ETA movements, so I don't think there is anything special about them that a competent watchmaker couldn't address for far, far less & likely with a faster turnaround.

Big Panerai fan and Ferrari fan here. Unfortunately the combination of the two never came together well. Generally speaking you’ll notice that not all watches can combine horology and co-branding successfully. The Schumi Speedies are fairly cheap qnd easy to find. Even the Luna Rossa PAMs aren’t that hot in the market.

As long as OP can get a good deal on the watch, go for it.
