Thoughts on Pan915

My wife has told me to start giving her some ideas for an upcoming retirement gift for me, I’ve been looking at a few different watches and already have a Sub and a 1655 so considering the pan 915 but want to hear any pros/cons basic thoughts. Thanks in advance

IMO, it’s probably the best, in the traditional sense, PAM in the current lineup.

I'd go a PAM 111, personally but i'm a sucker for a display case back

I love the 111 but they don’t produce it anymore so the 915 is the next best option along with 1084. Between the two of you don’t mind the faux patina then go for the 915 or wise the 1084 is also nice and very simple.

I’ll look at the 1084 l, I do want simple. And since most of my watches look similar I’d love to have one that stands out for my special occasion but sturdy enough to wear everyday if needed

If you can find a clean full set 111 that would be my suggestion as well, it’s discontinued but is a classic.

I was entertaining the PAM915 for a while but didn't pull the trigger...just went in a different direction/brand at the time but still on the radar. One thing to note that there are 2 different versions of the 915 out there - one with a display back, one with a closed one. The one I was considering at the time had the display back which I believe was part of the earlier batches when it was initially released. But Panerai have since gone to the closed case backs. Not that the movement is a marvel to look at but if it were an option, I'd try to track down a display black model.

I’m thinking I’m on the right track, the 915 looks good but not too overly flashy. I like the small seconds hand and I don’t need the date complication. Now just to put that on the list for the wife. Not sure what the AD’s would do as far as discounts or maybe throwing in another band, but I guess she can sweet talk them. Thanks for the help I’m sure I’ll enjoy my retirement gift

915 is one of the best options from the current catalogue, IMHO.

What a great way to celebrate the new beginning. Enjoy! I’m looking forward to the incoming photos. :-)

I don’t know about discounts at boutiques (doesn’t hurt to ask), but a couple of straps, sure. Good luck.

What bit to love about the 915 … Even a splash of Italian on the dial

There are no 111 new.
The 1084 or 776 are similar and cost new at official dealers at US $ 5500.
