Anyone have a 505 composite?

Guys - I've been off the forum for a while and may have missed some comments. I've been looking at the 505 (P. 3000 caliber, 3 day auto) Composite Black Seal Radiomir and wondered if anyone has one or has some info about the case, etc?

Appreciate your insights - Jim

I was at the Beverly Hills Boutique yesterday and saw the 504 and 505. The 505 is a 44mm case I believe while the 504 is a 47mm. What info about the case are you looking for?

You really need to see this material in real life before making a decision IMHO.

It is brown and light light light.

Not saying it is bad, just saying it is different and hard to truly capture in pics. I don't think it'll be super rare seeing how it is a regular production. I'd wait to see it before buying.

Thanks Mik, Mil - I was just wondering if anyone had one and what their assessment was. Idle curiosity I suppose.

I tried it on briefly at the boutique along with the 504 and felt the 504 had a cleaner and more balanced dial though it is 47 so if 44 is a better size then 505 is a nice looking watch as well. Definitely try it on though before buying is a great advise. Like some here, I like to feel my watch so the light weight isn't to my liking. But I do like the color of the case.

Panerai "composite" is really nothing more than aluminium that is subjected to an electric current while in a chemical bath causing an oxide layer to form on the surface. That layer gives it ceramic like scratch resistance. The density of aluminium gives the watch its light weight.
