Have you tried them on? The 5726 is an entirely different watch from the 5711 or 12.

It's big and thick and different from the original as designed by GG but still a nice watch bec of the balanced dial and proportions.

Nice comparison pics, thanks for that.

Personally I would like my Nautilus to be slim and smaller - the size and proportions of the 5712 and 5711 are just perfect to me. I'm not a fan of the 5990 and 5980 as I find them quite thick. Although I must admit I've been thinking of the 5726 as of late as the prices are still within reason for them, and they have a useful complication.

Can’t go wrong with the 5726. I’ve had mine for months now. It is fantastic. I like the thickness.

Have you tried the 5726? It’s worth a second look. Not as thick as the 5980. I would say it’s similar to a Rolex gmt in thickness. Very comfortable and not alward on the bracelet like the 5980 (jmho).

You can’t go wrong with any nautilus, but the 5990 is the king imho.

Will you wear the 5726 every day? If not the AC complication may be more trouble than it's worth, in terms of setting it every time you wear it. If you will wear every day the AC is a nice complication.

for me an annual calendar should be dress watch style, not sports watch. nautilus chrono is ok, two time zone too. the moon phase on the 5712G or R looks fine but is a bit out of place as well since it is dress watch style as well. this is of course just my taste, no imposing here....

I love the 5726 but it doesn't seem to get a lot of love around here. Many don't think the annual calendar belongs on a sports watch.

personally not a fan of any variation of the 5726 - I don't like the dial colour or layout

for me its the 5980 (steel / blue dial) / 5711 (all variations) / 5712 (steel) and 5990

I love the white 5726, I wish I could afford one. Annual Calendar that you could theoretically dive with? Yes please.

5711 and 5980 blue are my faves by far. The thickness of the 5980 is overrated, it's a really comfortable watch.
I like the 5726 but would choose others first.

For me it's a tie between the 5726 (white with bracelet) and the 5712. 5726 dimensions are about 40.5x40.5x11.25mm. 5712 is about 40x40x8.95mm. Both are very comfortable.

My feelings as well, and in particular I prefer the white dial 5726. Splitting hairs though, I've yet to come across a steel nautilus I didn't like

in my mind, I rank within 2 groups

Simple and thin: 5711 > 5712

Complicated: 5726 > 5980 > 5990

I like the White 5726 a lot. For the grey dial option, I believe the strap model looks nicer (dont ask me why, I just do). I have seen some criticism that 5726 is a 'neither-here-nor-there' watch because the annual calendar complication would not belong in a sports watch. IMHO, versatility is a plus, not a detractor. Unless you want a watch to be worn 'exclusively' with a suit or, on the contrary, a pure sports watch, I would say that the versatility of the 5726 is definitely an asset. The same holds true for the 5712 and 5711, while the 5980 and 5990 lean more towards the sportier side of the Nautilus family (being also great, for sure).

I wouldn't wear any Nautilus for a sport for that matter, Nautilus is far away for what a sport watch should be ; they are cool casual watches to wear but not sport watches , for that go Rolex

So for the OP, i wouldn't let the sport thing or if thats right or not right in the dial bother me; who cares, If you smile when you see your watch. If you don't wear it daily thats fine too (you should rotate, i think); you will be a master on setting up the watch in no time or get a winder.

I like the 5726 white dial and the 5712 in any metal

Cheers
