Help...Datejust Date Function Frustration

I picked up the new datejust a few months ago and am having one hell of a time getting my date function to change correctly.

It doesn't matter whether I change it in the morning or afternoon it still does not change at midnight. What am I doing wrong??

How long after midnight does it change? It may need to be looked at by RSC.

So it doesn’t change after 24 hours, I’d take it to RSC if that’s the case

I set it yesterday morning for the 22nd. It did not change at midnight. It still reads August 22. Should it have changed. What is the correct process for changing the date. Is there a certain time I should be changing the date for it to change around midnight?

That’s what I’m thinking too.

OP, can you move the date to the 23rd manually or are you saying it’s stuck on the 22nd

Yes this. Wait 24 hours before changing anything. If that didn't work screw out the crown and see if it changes when you turn the crown 24 hours. If not, get it serviced (warranty).

Take out the crown to time setting position. Rotate it until the date changes, if it's AM set the time, if it's PM, rotate it 12 more hours and then set the time. Pull the crown back in. Enjoy your watch working the way it should.

Set the date to yesterday’s date.

THEN... set the time by advancing the time until the date rolls over and you know whether you are working in am or pm.

Don’t forget, there are 24 hours in a day and it’s a 12 hour register. You have to set the watch in the proper time, or you’ll have the date advancing at noon every day.

According to this description, your date is not changing at all? Are you saying you set the watch, and if 5 days go by, the date remains the same as when you set it?

If that is the case, it needs to go back to Rolex for service.

If the date does change, just not when you expect it to, you may not have it set correctly as mentioned in other posts.

The date will only change when the hour hand has turned a full 360 degrees twice around the dial.

Yes always set to one day BEFORE the date you want, then advance to the next date by adjusting the time forward. Keeps you from messing up AM and PM

Alternatively what I do is I pull out the crown, rotate the crown until the date flips, then set the time keeping in mind AM and PM and then set the date. Either way works.

Just turn the hands ahead 12 hours, then reset the date.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Many people who have no experience with mechanical watches that include a date "complication" have the same problem. Just consider it a learning experience.
