Just curious, I see posts about people cleaning or washing their watch once a week. Are you guys actually cleaning your Rolex that often? Rather, how often are you cleaning. Just wanted to see what others were doing. Seems most recomment wash with warm water and soap.

My AD said that they would steam clean my watch for free, but I doubt they meant for me to bring it in once a week.

I clean my 16622 once a week with warm water, mild soap and a SOFT toothbrush....it works very well.

The only cleaning I do is wiping the dial from times to times when it's really dirty or before I take a picture (if you take a look at my pictures, you'll notice I'm not that talented anyway...

). I'm not a real cleaner.

Once per week with the TRF recommended Veraet cleaning solution and warm water - makes the watch look like it's MSRP!!

I just give mine a quick rinse with a bit of hand soap and towel it off before retiring, let it air dry the rest of the way overnight. Keeps them looking like new, takes about 30 sec to do, don't get that nasty black grungy buildup in between the links that way.

Every night I spray my watch with Windex, then gently rub with my fingers & rinse under warm water, then dry it with a microfiber towel... I have done this with every Rolex I have ever owned, 7 in total since 1994...

I wash mine in warm water and hand soap, then I use windex and a mircofiber cloth to put on the finishing touches. I do this once a week!

This site does make you self-conscious of just using camera phone pics. We've got so many talented photographers on this board taking such beautiful pics.

I clean the watch weekly(when I remember) with mild dish soap and a tooth brush and maybe once a month or two at the AD were they steam clean it!!!

Could the chemicals (e.g. ammonia) in Windex potentially be harsh on the seals of the watch? Maybe make them dry out prematurely?

I use Veraet spray cleaner at least once a week, more often if needed. Daily, when I clean my glasses using a spray lens cleaner (from Pearle Vision) I use that to clean the crystal. Just a small amount on a clean cotton cloth takes off all the fingerprints, smudges, etc. And, while I'm at it, I do a quick wipe down of the case and bracelet.

Truthfully I would gladly replace the gasket that seals the crown from time to time, rather than wear a dirty watch... For the record I have never had a problem with seals on my watches... I just think they are too nice to hide under dirt... hahaha!!!

Is it bad to wash it more than once a week? My sub C is pretty much my daily wearer and I find myself washing it almost everyday with liquid soap while washing my hands. I also usually shower with it on.

Once a week I'll let it soak in warm soapy water for a few minutes, then use an old soft tooth brush to clean between the links

Either once every week or every other week. It just depends as I don't wear the same one every day.

If it's hot and I perspire or put on sunscreen I'll wash it daily.

no problem washing more often rather than less often, as long as you are using the right products and not harsh chemicals

I clean my watches about every 2 weeks or so - more often if I notice the watch seems to be too smudged or dirty.

Nothing fancy - I put a little liquid hand soap on a soft toothbrush, then use that in slightly warm running water to go over the whole watch and bracelet. Drip dry, then wipe with a Selvyt cloth, and back on my wrist it goes. Never had any problems, and it seems to do a great job keeping things looking great! (I just make SURE the crown is all the way screwed in first!)

Once every couple of weeks, more often when needed. Just a small drop of liquid hand soap on a soft toohbrush, scrub away on a wetted watch and rinse with as hot a water as my gentle hands can stand. Then dry off with a towel and finish up with a microfiber. I find this works really well and makes the watch almost look new.

I thought I'd get more answers lilke this. I breathe on mine and wipe it with my shirt sometimes at work in my office.

I guess I should start cleaning it and giving it a more thorough wash a bit more frequently. Thanks.

Dirt in your clasp may cause it to wear faster...

Whenever I clean my watches' crystals I think they look good but the camera always shows me how wrong I was...
