I have noticed that a lot more Seiko's are being posted. Good to see.

In for the GS love... deservedly so.
One thing that worries me though is the shear number of supposedly 'special' and 'limited' models... I'm not fond of that.

I understand the SE/LE numbers comment and think you must look at Seiko and Grand Seiko differently than other brands when it comes to this type of manufacturing. Part of the fun and the appeal for me is the large number of watch options and variations. Always learning with Seiko.

The major issue I have with a large amount of yearly variants... it tends to crush the secondary market because many will want to sell to get a new variant... this has the effect of leaving a large stock supply on the secondary market which depresses it and lowers values.

A maker with a weak secondary market will under perform in the primary market as new buyers will refrain from making the initial investment because they see their principle suffer more significantly than with other manufacturers who actively control production and more importantly, offerings.

agree 100% - this is what killed Omega - a new PO or AT, or speedmaster every single damn year!!

the one potential saving grace with respect to GS, is that the limited/special editions are often genuinely limited by production logistics and intricacies of the dial creation, than they are by marketing strategies... and their limited runs are of hundreds, not thousands of watches...

in many markets, Retailers are frustrated with GS inability to meet production demand.. this will always result in a strong secondary market
