Tattle tale fake news!

So, today I texted my AD asking about the two watches I’ve been waiting on.

He texted back saying someone called him to warn him that I was flipping watches, like the Pepsi I got from this AD.

Seriously TRF?!?

So, I took a picture of the watch (that’s still in the box (hasn’t been worn for reasons that are MY BUSINESS!) next to a receipt from my car dealer (for oil change) from today.

Again, he didn’t doubt me, but I felt compelled to prove it anyway!

Here is that photo in case you still don’t believe. I blurred the serial number for TRF, but left it for my AD to show it’s that watch he sold me.

Someone went through a lot of trouble to call my AD about me. For what reason? Because they don’t want me getting the next X, Y, or Z ahead of them?!? This is getting crazy!

Well that’s unfortunate. But I can’t imagine a situation where I get a watch and it’s not on my wrist right away, just sitting in a box (unless of course it’s a gift).

Someone must’ve got a little too jealous. I wonder if that person thinks they’ll get a better chance of getting something good from the AD.

Who knows you? Hard to believe someone on this forum would have access to your name AND your AD's phone number. Why do you think it is a forum member?

I wanna know if he’s still going to sell you a watch?

You can’t make this stuff up.

Sorry to hear this. Maybe the AD got the feeling that you wanted to flip based on your interaction in the past during your purchase(s) with the AD. That could be one possibility.

And the AD just used the excuse of someone outing you as a flipper.

My SA stated that they identify potential flippers and once they do they will not sell to them again. The way it sounded, is they observe behavior that may deviate from a normal purchase....go figure.

I think it’s because my story of getting that Pepsi from this AD, after my story of getting DSSD DB on grand opening.

I don’t belong to other forums and don’t go on Facebook or Instagram, so could only be from TRF member.

I'm assuming TRF members are innocent unless evidence is provided to the contrary. No offense to OP.

That was my question as well.

Not that I doubt the story but I'm curious if it's someone you know in real life or if a random TRFer really went through all that effort. Are you sure your AD isn't a member here?

You can check the websites of a few of our reliable TSs for NOS inventory. One, in particular, has enough NOS inventory to make one quickly realize that stashing away new watches is not all that rare. And if those prices are being realized, then it looks like a pretty smart move too...provided one has the means.

We are all in the game with our own perspective; sometimes others' percpectives don't make sense as a result.

Don’t all Grey dealers get their watches from ADS?

I don’t get it!!
You buy something with your hard earned money then it becomes totally your business what to do with it!
Sell it, wear it, gift it or even burn it!!

It’s nice if you (but not necessary) to price anything for your AD! Let alone explain anything to anyone here!
It’s indeed crazy times!!

Did your AD specifically mention TRF? If not, aren’t you reaching a bit with the allegation? I mean most people will use a false negative to obtain a truthful answer. Perhaps your AD just threw the “hey you’re a flipper” out there to check the reaction?

Incidentally, drop me a PM, I’ll take the watch and promise not to say you flipped

Hey Mark, It seems like it's a small world but the circumstances of someone knowing you personally by name, and knows the exact AD, and has a vendetta against you is slim to None...

I bet the Savvy AD who overheard or you told them your on the forum, might just say that as a matter of Conversation to see if they can Catch you...Maybe...

Poor excuse for your AD to claim you flipped your watch and should have been honest to just tell you to buy a PM piece to bundle.

what are you talking about? You're saying cause it's pictured here in the box that the OP doesn't wear the watch?

Sorry, actually confused.

Anyhow, that crazy Mark, sorry to hear. What an annoying thing to happen. Is it possible as stated above, maybe they're just fishing to see how you react and in actuality it has nothing to do with TRF?
