Thanks guys! I am very impressed with this watch and I must say the quality is on par with Rolex at a fraction of the price.

Congrats, great choice! Although, of course, either would have been a great choice...

It looks good on you.

Going a little OT here: I was just reading a thread in the main forum about how secondary market prices are just going nuts on the new Submariners, etc. and of course they are still nuts on most of the GMTs. It kills me how people are spending so much money on Rolex (admittedly a fine watch) when you can buy a new Omega such as the Seamaster pictured above for literally a fraction of the cost. And actually go to a store, try it on, pick a color, and walk out with it all in the same day!

Took the words right out of my mouth. To add to this: Rolex MSRP is already high and to think that greys are getting 50%-100% more on USED versions is just absolutely mind boggling to me.

This is why I pretty have given up on Rolex. I have my 16710 Pepsi and I'm happy with it even if I paid too much for it. I don't care that I can get 20% more than what I paid for it a year ago. That means absolutely nothing to me.

And I couldn't agree more about walking into an Omega AD and walking out with a brand new Seamaster 300m or Speedy the same day and with a discount on top of a very fair price that's a fraction of what Rolex charges for their version of a comparable watch. Omegas are every bit as good if not better than Rolex. Sorry if that offends the Rolex faithful. But it's a true statement.

Help me choose my first Omega

Get the diver on bracelet and ask them to throw in the rubber strap and buckle since they sell so far below msrp. I love mine. Bought my first 300m diver nearly 20 years ago.

Excellent choice. Congrats! What do you think of the bracelet? I only ask because I saw a comment about how uncomfortable it is and how you MUST wear this watch on the rubber, but I completely disagree. I’ve got the gray dial SMP Diver 300 on bracelet and find it to be incredibly comfortable.

I wore the watch all day yesterday on bracelet and found it to wear very comfortable as well. The glide lock is extremely convenient and well made. I’m not sure why others complain about the comfort.

That's great that you picked up the Speedy as well. Let us know which one you favor in a month or so. I would most certainly be interested in hearing.

This is awesome. Glad you were able to get both. Also glad you are finding the bracelet on the Seamaster comfortable. I agree, the quick adjust system is very well done.

Lol. Great decision. Good thing is both watches have 20mm lug spacing so straps are going to be interchangeable for either watch.

Good lord you act fast! Congrats x2

Now you need to buy like 10 different straps for the Speedmaster

I only had mine for like six months and had already accumulated six different bracelets/straps.

In a head versus heart question about watches, I think heart wins.
