The 2018 Basel Pieces are in town!

Was in London today and so managed a quick diversion into one of the ADs
As I’d been told by the salon a few weeks ago that the Basel pieces are currently in London.

All the pieces have the barrel disengaged so hands fixed etc but all the correct weight.

Had a good look at the new Aquanaut 5168/A

5168/A vs 5164/A

and also the 5740/G

Plus managed to have a look at a few of the other regulars (5711, 5712, 5164 etc)

Didn’t spend much time looking at the 5524R but they had both there plus the G
The 5270/P looked very nice too but forgot to take any pics of it!!

nice. I had the chance to see them at the salon while ago and the 5968 and 5740 were the two standouts for me

yeah they were there last week IIRC - but I was on holiday last week so my AD's London store have them this week so popped in to take a look.

The weight of the 5740 was the thing that surprised me...

yep, it has great heft.

The salon also had them at the end of april too, I just stumbled upon them by pure chance otherwise i would have never seen them. No AD's invite me to anything so its not like i can even plan on anything.

The 5968 and 5740 both look amazing.

Looking at the 5968 and 5164 side by side - the bezel of the 5968 looks slimmer. I also like the slimmer luminous markers.

I do prefer the thinner bezels, the 5990 is also thinner than other Nautilus.

The 5740 bezel looks normal size though, but it would be interesting to see it next to another Nautilus.

The bezel was same size as the 5712A

The 5740 is killer. I really like this one a lot. Nothing else comes close for me. Starting a consolidation effort now!

The 2018 Basel pieces look superb, thanks for sharing! Like others have said I’m really liking the thin bezel on the 5968 and the blue hue of the 5740. I always loved the 5740, but the 5968 is growing on me a lot!!

Question, were they available for purchase?

Did they have a 5164?

Are they currently doing a tour of the U.K. or is this just London?

Hi - the London salon would be the best people to contact, I believe they are going around a few select AD's not just in London.
