Unless its an "A" serial example I avoid them. Otherwise its a non-issue IMHO.
Agreed. Mine's an A-series sold in Feb 1999 but even the great Mondani family didn't bother to feature it in their Submariner book - most likely while it's better known as a service dial...

My 16600 is a 27 year old X-series 1991, 5 services, due for another later this year, 1 new bezel, new hands, the rest is original apart from any replacement parts in the 'dark zone' inside! I have the full set, including the easily lost Ref 2100 screw driver and an unopened anchor and chain in it's plastic pouch. A daily wearer. oh, forgot to add...the Tritium lume after all these years is still visible in a totally dark room with your eyes adjusted for the dark.

16600 is simply a brilliant watch! Still holds up well against the new SD43!

Picked one up a few months ago. It currently is my favorite watch in a fairly decent collection. Love when a five year old thread pops up.

Sea-Dweller 16600

Recently acquired pre-ceramic 16600 D-serial (2005) in beautiful condition on original 93160A "MA"-code (2005) bracelet. Classic now that the 40mm is out of production, having sadly been replaced by the substantially larger and weightier 43mm and 44mm.

I prefer the 16600 over any of the new SD models. Classic, clean design at the perfect size in my opinion. Just different enough from the classic sub to stand apart but close enough to be easily recognized as a Rolex

I sold my 16600 because I thought the SD43 would replace it. Wore the SD43 for a week, no love.. It was nice, but too heavy to daily. So i flipped it within a week. Took me a while to find a mint full set 16600.. Here she is!!

I hava a 16610 LV and a few toner Rolex sport watches. The SD does offer more heft which I like. I also wear a few Panerai so I may Be predisposed to larger watches

Great! Thanks...
What about wrist presence besides the heft...?
Which wears larger on the wrist 16610 LV or Sea Dweller 16600 ?
Or are they about the same ?
