Exp 1 example - Thoughts?

What are your general thoughts on this example including the dial, hands, and case? I'm considering this watch, I realize this is a vague post but I'm just looking for input. Do you see anything concerning?

I've never seen a dial end up like that without some damage.

Is this a custom dial possibly?

“Common” in vintage watches that used laquer, doesn’t mean there is any damage at all to the movement etc. Some people pay a lot of money for that “damage”

Thanks, I’m familiar with spider dials and creamy markers.

No worries So did you pull the trigger yet or not? Looks like a cool watch with some awesome character.

I haven’t yet but I agree with you. $3700 seems fair. This watch is t on Crown and Caliber, but there are about half a dozen on that site from the ‘90’s with bracelet between $4200-$4700. Any feedback about C&C?

I’m leaning towards the spider.

No personal experience with them but also check HQ Milton (Jacek) gets some really cool vintage pieces. I am not affiliated with HQ Milton and never done business with him but he gets great reviews etc...

One of my favorite parts about my 114270 is the inky black dial.

I think I would find those cracks distracting.

The spider web dials are unique. Kind of hard to say i like them, but I can say I dont hate them.

I got mine from HQ Milton several months ago. Jacek is really great to deal with and they get good examples of 114270s all the time.

Thanks! It’s a 2002. Looks like there’s another 2002 posted on the site right now that looks like a nice example.

For my money I see a well worn case, cracked dial, & a missing bracelet. Surely there are better examples for not much more. Explorer can be worn on strap but looks better on bracelet. Good luck.
