It's just green paint. Some of you make it sound like it's made out of Colombian emerald. In a few years, Rolex will release Hulk 2.0 with better case proportions and the same green dial, and the 116LV will be disliked (aesthetically) just like the 116LN is compared to the 126LN. Whoever will own the Hulk then will say things like “yah but the 116LV is the original Hulk!!! It’s rare!!”
Actually a lot more people are realising the 116LN is the better reference because of the more proportionate clasp and bracelet, the nice hunky big case, and strong tried and tested movement. Rolex will never bring back a Hulk. If it does happen it will be a different color of green on a different case. It won't be called Hulk or Hulk 2.0. A new nickname will be given so it will be a totally different watch. The bezel color has already changed on the 126 LV by the way so it's already not the same green bezel as the Hulk. This is not about investment, it's a collector thing, collectors collect watches even if they don't have appreciation potential. The Hulk has both.

Worst take in this entire thread. From not even understanding the dial manufacturing process, right down to not understanding how collectability works in the neo/vintage market.

OP, you are INSANE for even considering trading a Hulk for a Cermit.

The Hulk is the most influential modern Rolex that Rolex has made. It is the only watch to change the entirety of the industry. Parting with it would be a huge mistake.

A very strong no on the trade for me but people have different opinions and that’s part of what makes the world interesting.
If you do the trade the numbers do not add up, you should be getting money back on the deal you describe. Good luck!

Please educate me. Help me understand how collectibility works and how the Hulk is not just green paint

False.

False. Rolex will never bring back the 5-digit LV because Rolex is unlikely to use aluminum bezels and hollow links again. However, the Hulk has modern components that will remain relevant indefinitely. The only unique aspect of the Hulk is its movement, as Rolex will not revert to the 3135.

Go for it, 12 sub is so much better and MKI bezel would be a much rarer watch, if that’s of interest to you.

Too many people on here are caught up in future values, this hobby should be about what you enjoy. Leave the charts and price predictions to those on Wall St.

Dan, personally, I would NOT do that trade + cash. To me, the 116610LV is a very special watch. My SA has one and every time I see it I drool and wish it was mine. I don't get the same feeling with the 126610LV, although I do like it very much.

I got a Submariner 116610LV which I bought at retail in 2017, should I make a trade for a 126610LV dated 2023 full set at grey for a even deal or add a little bit of cash?

Appreciate for your opinion, thanks.

No love for Hulk so would do it !

I traded for my Hulk for a Daytona and I miss it. I would not do this trade, unless you're getting back at least 2 or 3 thousand.

I wouldn’t do this trade straight up because of the difference in value.

That being said, the deification of this watch on the forum is kind of crazy.

If you want the 12LV really bad and would wear it more than the 116LV than i would do it. If you still love the 116LV than you would be better off by adding instead of trading.

just wondering, did you end up trading for the 12LV?? I have an 12LV and traded it for the Hulk and I am extremely satisfied with it... I guess it depends on whichever makes you happy
