Visibility compare: 116500LN black v 116519LN steel dial

Opinions on visibility between these two? Thanks.

Visibility meaning how much attention you get? Or you mean legibility? Because I guarantee both models are made of stainless opqaue steel.

If you can read one, you can read the other….
Daytona’s poor legibility is more of a myth than a fact. Chronographs (doesn’t matter which brand) are just generally harder to read than a standard 3 hander as its dial is busy with sub dials. Once you know what you are looking for it is as straightforward as any watch.

The moonwatch has great legibility though.

To me, all Daytonas are hard to read at first.
But as with all things in life, you get the hang of it after awhile.

Disagree strongly.

Speedmasters, IMO are much more legible

The Daytona's legibility is not a myth. There are enough owners that agree with this. You might not agree, but that does not make us mythmaticians.

Close your eyes ....

Now open them.

Which one can you read the time on quickly?

For me it’s pretty much the same between the Speedy and the Daytona. The only difference is that the Speedy feels more utilitarian than the Daytona which is more style than substance these days. I would say the lume on the Speedy is better than the Daytona though. Concerns about legibility may be legit, but clearly that has not stopped people from buying one or else we wouldn’t be in a situation we are in today….

All set to the same time for illustration purpose….
