My new to me Tudor 9411/0

So bought this watch 3 months ago from the original owner and it finally arrived here in the uk with a friend today. First impressions are I love it dial is in perfect shape,Minute hand slightly lighter in colour to the hour hand but not something that worries me Plexi shows scuff marks so a decision needs to be made on do I get it replaced or try to get them polished out? Strap shows signs of wear and maybe it might wear a nato for a while but we’ll see

Very lovely 9411. Looks really good. Crystal looks genuine, I will just polish it. Probably worth giving the watch a service. Congrats and wear in good health.

Thanks for the comment I do think the crystal could be genuine and I’ll see about getting the scratches on it polished

That's lush! Dial looks in stunning condition... thus I am jealous :D

Bracelet does look a bit stretchy. Maybe pop to RSC and get a 78500?

Do it, it's much cheaper than you imagine.

Which band does the watch have ? Just be careful, if it’s a Rolex 9315, these have really appreciated in value. It’s possibly worth far more than a new band at a Rolex dealer. Post some photos of the band. It may have a letter date code based on year of manufacture ‘A’ for 1976, B for 1977 etc

Harry is absolutely right, restoring and keeping the original in the safe is a must.

The one I've shown is perfect to wear daily.

I’ll post some pictures of the band but from memory it’s a j10 it’s marked as a 9315 it’s stamped as a Rolex with a Tudor shield stamp on the flip lock

The 9411 is exceptionally charming. Its appearance is quite impressive, and the crystal seems to be authentic; It may just need a good polish. It might be a good idea to consider servicing the watch. Congratulations, and may you wear it in excellent health.

Sorry for the average photos hope they are of a good enough quality but here goes. Bracelet is marked as a 9315 with 380 end links but with a Tudor flip lock which I’m guessing is slightly later as this should have been a Rolex stamped item?

might have been replaced in a later service. IIRC, the tudor branded bracelets were found more commonly in later years - I have seen them on 1980's onwards but I could be wrong.

Ok. That is a very beautiful band but likely a later replacement. It’s supposed to be kind of loose fitting. Yours seems to be in pretty decent condition. I like many others on here would much prefer the 9315 to a modern replacement. I’ve actually bought watches on eBay just for a band like this. I’ve kept the bands And sold thé watches!

Thanks Harry I value your input. It is loose fitting if anything it could do with being a little bigger and that would be my only criticism of the overall watch everything else I think is perfect.

Yeah, assume replacement/service clasp but that's no issue. Can find a Rolex one easy enough and since (probably more than) half the 9411s you find are on NATOs, clearly the bracelet is a nice to have, as opposed to a necessity. I love my 78500 - great bracelet. Can keep the 9315 in the drawer!

My 1981 (F) bracelet is stamped Tudor only on clasp's outer, so yours must have been replaced sometime during service.

A useful rough guide perhaps to 20mm EU bracelets/Rolex clasp.

Tudor clasp / Rolex blade and later Tudor clasp / Tudor blade is different as the folded link factory continued making them for ages for Tudor until circa early-mid 90s....with the 79190 getting the final 20mm folded links and the 75190 the last 19mm folded links ).

My Dates +/- 1 year eg not religiously correct:

7206 1954 to 1968 with year and and (1-4) quarter upside down to adjacent scroll.

9315 1969 to 1975 with year and qtr upside down up to circa 73 - a couple of years or so were without date stamps. No letter year codes used on 9315.

93150 late 1975 and in production for a couple of decades or so...All the ones I've handled in last 40 yrs are a letter year codes with first year A or VA and widely considered v late 75 /1976.

* Btw - Round top 3 of 93150 can be found (but not on all) on last links on early to mid 90s production and service 93150 bracelets (and 78360 for that matter).

I am not attempting to hijack this thread but I have a question about the picture of the clasp blades I posted below which is from a post in this thread. I have read from numerous sources that the lack of a space between "SWISS" and "MADE" is a sign of a fake part. However this is obviously NOT fake and it is missing the space. Is that only true on certain models or it that completely incorrect?
