Swap SS Daytona White to Patek 5960 SS

Hi All,

Need some input with my trading plan here, trade my SS Daytona 116520 white dial and Patek Calatrava 5296G to Patek 5960 SS white dial.

Is it a good move? I always adore the beauty of the 5960 SS.

Current collection is Rolex Batman, Patek 5164A, and BB 58.

Thx.

I am in the process of swapping a DaytonaC white for a Patek 5196J.
Phase one completed: Saying goodbye to the Daytona was somewhat painful as it is related to a life event, but while I really liked and wanted it I really had problems with its legibility and I realized that I really not need chronograph complication.
I expected to complete phase 2 last week, but it seems that I will have to wait 2 or 3 months.

5960 seems a superb watch, seems a great decision if it is what you love.

Even trade?

Hard to let those two go, but the 5960A is a great complicated watch, annual calendar + chronograph for the prices they are going are basically a steal (if a bit shiny for my taste).

It would go well with the others you have, but you won't have a true dress watch anymore, did you not wear the 5296G often?

I would personally trade the Batman and Daytona (and throw the BB58 if needed) for it and keep the dressy PP.

Love my 5960a, great watch. It’s my daily driver. Having owned all the watches in consideration I’d go for it.

I have the 5960/1A-010. It’s been my daily driver as well. It’s a versatile watch that can be worn in dressy and more casual environments. I was afraid about the bling of the bracelet, but it’s really not that bad.

I’d keep at most one Rolex and get this if you can.

I wouldn't do it for the following reasons:

1) I would want to keep one dress watch, in your case the 5296G
2) I don't like the AC layout w three windows near the top of the dial

If the 5960 was just a regular chrono w one date window (think 5968) instead of the AC I might reconsider.

If you adore its beauty then go for it, you have nice watches still in your collection too.

I would do it. That’s a pretty good trade. 5960 ticks all boxes both sporty and dressy. It’s inderrated IMHO.

My white dial 5960/1a has fantastic legibility and because of that it’s my daily.

My 116500 white dial ... no so much.

Yes it will be hard to let the Daytona go . However the 5960 1a is a great daily with very useful complications .

Thank you all for all the input, I will keep my Daytona and will add the 5960A to the collection.

So hard to let the Daytona go as many memory with the watch.

I'm a huge daytona fan...I own several...I also own the 5960...they are a bit different...a daytona you can literally wear doing anything...not sure I would play sports in a 5960.
