1665 - how durable no after all those years?

I'm looking at trading my subC for a 1665. I wondered whether or not it is realistic to expect these watches to still be waterproof and suitable for everyday use?

Absolutely they will. It is a great watch and great to wear daily. Try one - you'll like it!

Is this something Rolex would do as part of a service?

nothing like a vintage watch!!! Been wearing my 50 year old 5512 since it came in the mail a few weeks back....it joins a '67 GMT, a '68 Omega SM300, a 1977 1680, a 1999 Speedmaster Pro, and a "new" 2001 Omega SMP in rotation (don't want to make the "new" watches feel unloved!! You will absolutely LOVE vintage on a daily basis!

Any vintage Rolex will be suitable for daily wear, as long as it is properly taken care of. If you plan on getting it wet, it's not a bad idea to have it pressure tested every year or two.
