Tudor Oyster Prince 7020/0 turn-o-graph question

I was recently gifted this Tudor Oyster Prince watch for my birthday and was looking to gather some more information on it. I can't find much online so far and was hoping someone here would be knowledgable about it. I was specifically interested in the movement and year. It also has a serial number 686xxx, if that's any help.

Awesome and thank you. Do you know of any site where I could read further into it.

It's a great watch man. Whoever got you that has great taste. I found it very heavy, more than a sub of the era. Read off the the first three numbers in the serial. Keep the last three private. We can tell you the year of prod. Was this an heirloom? The prod numbers are low compared to subs.

Thank you, I'm really loving classical and clean look of it. And I find the 39mm to be a great size. The first three of the serial is 686 I believe, and it is an heirloom. My dad has had it for years and decided to pass it down for my 30th. He recently had it serviced and so far has been keeping great time. It's also my first timepiece from the Rolex/Tudor family, so I'm super excited about it. So far I've had a few Tissots and a Paul Gerber and haven't had the chance to get a vintage of my own until this.

i'm not so sure it's a heavy watch as we have had a few. basically it's the same size and heft of a typical datejust. tudor made loads of day-date models in that era altho most of them came as tutone and with fluted bezels rather than that thunderbird style bezel.

If that dial is original then its after 1968 since the Tudor shield was first introduced in late 68

Apologize in advance if this gets posted twice, thought I replied but it hasn't shown up on my phone yet. Thank you Harry, I'm loving this watch. It's my first in my collection from the Rolex/Tudor family. I believe the first three of the serial are 686. It is an heirloom, my dad had it serviced and gave it to me for my 30th. It's keeping great time so far. I agree with janice&fred, I don't find it too heavy, it's 39mm and is relatively thin, imo. And I believe the dial and everything else is original.

Thank you Harry, I appreciate that. It's my first Rolex/Tudor I've had in my collection so I'm really enjoying it. It originally was my dad's but he had it serviced and gave it to me for my 30th. I believe the first three of the serial to be 686. To the best of my knowledge everything on it is original and dad has had it for quite some time now. I agree with Janice, I find the watch to be a bit on the lighter side, it's 39mm, but it could be lighter because I'm not wearing the stainless band as well.

The moment is an A. Shields 1895. The first 7020/0 Jumbos were produced in 1969 thru 1979. Yours has the second dial version.

Here's a pic of mine with the first dial version.

As a new member, your posts sometimes go through some vetting by the Mods. Especially if many posts are being made swiftly - so nothing wrong with your phone.

On the Tudor TOG, what a wonderful present. I am getting to the age where some similar gifting/handing down is in order. So I think I know the shared pride your Dad felt when he did this.

I am especially drawn to the shape of the strap - it gracefully swells from the 20mm lug width to what appears to be 22-24mm in width. Do you know the brand/name of that strap?

Janice, the next time you get a 7020, compare it to a datejust again. There is no comparison. The 7020 felt more substantial to my 7021 subs

Thank you, I thought the strap was unique and that's why I picked as well. I'm not sure of the brand( I'll ask my dad when I get a chance). The only thing on the inside of the band is "Handmade in France" , "Genuine Leather" and what I'm assuming is a part number 698. Apologize because I'm sure this doesn't help you, but I'll respond back as soon as I know more.
