TT blue faced Sub (16613) bracelet question.

I just bought a made in 1999 (A-Serial) 16613 blue faced sub. It has a "SWISS" dial and a TT bracelet, but doesn't have the gold through the clasp. For those of you that own a similar model, does it bother you that the gold does not go through the clasp? Have you considered getting an upgraded bracelet?

This one appears to contain evidence that it was serviced by Rolex in 2015 and that paperwork helped me make the decision on this watch compared to paying about $300 more for one made a year later that had the gold through the clasp. I suppose the version I am getting may not scratch as easily as a gold through clasp model bracelet while I'm typing. I dunno. Maybe I should just order another one so I'll have one of each?

The watch is currently incoming and I'll post pics when it arrives. Hopefully that will be by the end of the week.

I'll be honest. I had one and it bugged the crap out of me.

The non-gold through the clasp surely has to rank on Rolex's top ten list of visual blunders. Toward the top.

I believe you can get just the upgraded clasp. I had a 16613 and it had the gold through the clasp and I definitely would not have liked the all SS version.

Having had both versions at different times, I’ll say this: your plain clasp won’t be collecting the swirlies that show up on the gold trimmed clasp.

I think you’re fine - wear and enjoy it! You can always flip later.

Back in the day that was all we had. When the gold through was released I just waited for the SEL and that was the direction I took.
