its an amazing piece. For me though it was more of a transition from ROO offshores that sealed the deal for this particular Patek reference. I wanted a thicker and sporty watch where as the offshores just became too big for my taste.

Its not your traditional Nautilus in terms of proportions, but for me it ticked all the boxes in terms of moving my offshores and adding this watch.

It suits you more than the Offshores that you had. I really like this one.

Hi Tyler.
Earlier I mentioned your beautiful postings made me take a closer look at this watch.
It enabled me. Made an order last month and very happy to receive today.
My happiness was doubled when I was gifted with a copy of The Authorized Biography of Patek Philippe.
Once again thanks for the enabling.
Cheers.

Thanks! Earlier, I thought since I have the 5726, I need not consider the 5990. But my opinion changed when I saw your postings.
Yes, you are right. The book is awesome.

i think the 5726 and 5990 can get along quite well. I think of the 26 as far more dressy.

Hi Tyler,
When I wind this watch there's a resistance and spring back.. Very unlike my other Natilus, which are not so obvious.
Is this normal?

it winds differently than my others for sure. Not sure what you are describing though... on mine i cant hear it when i manually wind and there isn't as much winding resistance when turning the crown. If i put my ear to it then i can so i know it works. All my others there is definitely more resistance when winding.
