the scratching of a bezel

I am almost embarrassed to post this because it is so minor. That said.... I have a very minor hairline scratch on a DateJust 41 fluted bezel. I am posting a picture of how people will see it. In other words, showing how no one else will ever notice the scratch when its on my wrist. It is just to the left of the 9. I am then posting a close up of it. Otherwise known as how it looks when I stare obsessively at it under a bright light.
Here is my issue: I am guessing there are going to be plenty of scratches and dings to come. I would not seek to fix this now. It is far, far too minor. That said, in 7 years or so when I go to get this serviced are these the types of tiny damage areas that Rolex can polish and buff out? It is a watch and I intend to enjoy it so this is not haunting my soul. It is not meant to sit safely in a safe under lock and key protected from the world. I would just like some affirmation that down the road these types of scratches can be fixed easily.
It is funny.... I think the scratch is kind of good because it is forcing me to just let it go. Whenever my eyes drift to the scratch I literally say to my self in my head that a ship is always safe in a harbor but that's not what ships are built for. lol

I would appreciate any input and will also be amused by the funniest burn for how a grown man needs to not be bothered by something this minor. Thanks as always.

I'm pretty certain that they can polish that to look like new

Easily polished when you go for a service

In the first pic on the left, I can't see it. So...focus on seeing like that.

Breathe a sigh of relief on two points. It can be readily fixed, and be glad that you didn't go with the smooth bezel.

Don't worry about the scratch, there will be more to come
When you service it, according to what my AD told me, my understanding is that you can either polish the bezel or replace it with a new one... the latter will be more costly of course.

It bothered me when I got the first scratch too, but then after two days I forgot about it and no longer care when I see it.

I completely feel your pain, but like everyone has said, it can easily be removed during service. Beautiful watch wear and enjoy!

After a while you’ll stop noticing it. When I got my first scratch on my explorer it’s all I stared at. Now I don’t even notice it anymore.

Be glad you don’t have an Explorer bezel. That thing scratches if you just look at it wrong. :/

Polish it out with some Simichrome metal polish and an old t shirt. No, you won't remove enough metal to even be measured. Just don't use the polish on any brushed surfaces unless you want them shiny,

And loose the detailed edges of the bezel ....

Enjoy your beautiful watch and worry about things which matter in life - family, health, work, happiness...you get the picture.

Edit: and get another Rolex to your rotation to decrease the number of scratches.

No one will ever see it. Let go and learn to love the scratches. Inconsequential and invisible to everyone...but maybe you.

Simichrome isn't coarse enough to do anything like that with hand rubbing. Take a dremel to it and probably yeah.

Scratches are unavoidable if you want to wear the watch but there are some good do-it-yourself polish options to remove them.

Should be easy to polish
I would wait till it’s time for service and get that one and the many others you’ll put on it taken care of

Damn!!! I can't unsee that; I'd lose sleep over that. I wonder how you'll manage?

Nah just playin. Learn not to care, you'll get some more, and then some. I bet you'll be ever so cautious now! I have a minor scratch on my smooth bezel, I've learned not to see it.

As everyone has already said. No need to worry. That’s an easy polish.

Take a toothpick, give it the shape of the concave spaces in the bezel flutes, put on it a very compact and fine cloth (eyeglass cleaning cloth is the best) and using some very fine polish rub altogether in radial movements over the scratch. So you won't lose the teeth of the bezel and scratch will become almost invisible. Then wash the watch carefully. One evening's job. Cover the bottom of the watch with some tape best, to avoid scratching it with the bracelet during your work.

USCG, Navy send the big ships to deal with big storms on the water. they are considered safer on the water than at port.

As said above, cape cod clothes are amazing.....but on that beauty I''d wait until service and have them buff it out easily.
