First watch - Rolex 16520 or AP 15400?
Having a hard time deciding which one to choose. I've always liked both and feel like AP is much more polished/refined, but Rolex would probably be better for daily wear and more reliable.
Opinions please? Both are around the same price. |

The Rolex is a better daily IMO (depending on what you do daily of course), but the AP is definitely different.
Which do you enjoy wearing more?

That AP crown is always a deal breaker for me.
It looks like a common bolt head. Otherwise, the Royal Oak is a sexy thing. Go with the Daytona. |

I find the 15400 a little too big and not as well proportioned as the 15300, which is a little smaller. The Daytona is a classic for a reason.

This one really comes down to personal preference to me. If it was the ceramic white Daytona, I'd say go with that. If we're deciding between the previous reference though and the AP, I would lean towards the latter.
FYI - these watches wear completely different from one another. That's something you also have to consider. For instance, the 15400 is a wee bit of a stretch for me to pull off, and I think it's size would take a toll on me as a daily wearer. If this was a contest between the last Daytona and the "Jumbo" (extra-flat 39mm) I'd pick the AP hands down. |

The Royal Oak doesn’t feel to me like a daily wearer. Too bold for me, but what do I know. I cant afford either right now .

Definitely the Daytona IMO. Better as a daily wearer and more versatile.

AP 15400 silver dial. I initially thought it would be too dressy and only get worn with business attire and I was wrong. I have one and wear it with everything from shorts, jeans and suits. It's also appreciated (bonus, not expected) more than any watch I've owned in the 4 years I've had it.

I’d vote 16520 or 15300/15450 (I think they’re sized better at 39 and 37 mm).
You can’t go wrong either way. Here’s my 16520 next to my 15450 |

Zenith Daytona. I would imagine mid $10ks. The 16520 will be worth more while you wear it. Prices keep going up. Royal Oak service is also pretty expensive. Significantly more than Rolex.

Thanks for the advice guys. Leaning towards the 16520 for sure, even though the 15400 movement is beautiful

The Daytona for your daily and only. I'd consider an EasyLink or GlideLock Rolex perhaps too

I've had both. I still own the 15400. The Daytona was a little too small for my 7.5" wrist and a little too unlegible. Love the Royal Oak!

I also had a white 15300 and it was an amazing watch but the 16520 is one of my personal favorites!
