Deepsea Challenge

anyone know if this watch is on display somewhere?

would be nice if rolex tours the watch through its boutiques so i could get an eyes on look at it.

Really. Pics or it didn't happen. LOL. None of the huge stores I've been to in NYC had one and I was told one will be placed at the HQ and one in some museum. No clue about the others but an AD in Ohio seems like a strange place.

I'm sure it did fine, but did Rolex ever release anything official about it after the dive?

Come to think of it, I haven't really seen any footage or anything to do with that mission since it happened.

I am sure this is a quick typo.
You must mean the DSSD.

Almost certain he meant the DSSD Challanger.....

This was a prototype not meant for the general public!! (or to ever be sold as a production model!)

OP, think of it as a DSSD x 2....Could it be worn by a human being???

Just look at the DSSD -- Its sales are dismal. Now you bring a watch out that is bigger and heavier than the DSSD and you expect it to sell? Not gonna happen -- well if you have wrists of a gorilla, then it might happen. Most people in the world can barely wear the DSSD.

from what I've seen down here in florida DSSD are extremely popular. and considering that big watches are so popular nowadays the DSSD fits the criteria.

well, i have found nearly all of the sport rolexes in the cases in recent weeks. i think that the economy and massive prices contribute to this. i dont think the DSSD is a slow seller... but its expensive and readily available these days.

my prediction, the Black Bay at one-third the cost will be very hard to find in the flesh. lower price point.

Sort of an apple to oranges comparison, don't you think?
