I thought it would be nice if i offered to give my wife the TT DJ that I wore when we got married. I didn't think for one minute that she would accept.

I've let friends wear my DSSD on many occasions. Its insured and its just a watch. I even let a few of them take out my boat or RV if they want to. It was even wrecked at the dock once ($8k fiberglass damage) but as I said its insured I'm not getting mad at them for it. All they have to do is ask. As for my fiancé what's mine is hers no questions asked. IMHO thats VERY strange to worry about your wife wear your watch.
I can't believe some of you wives actually take it when you say " no you can't wear my watch.". I'd find my crap in the yard if I acted like that. |

My wife loves wearing my watch and I actually think it's cool that she does.

I mean the watch is still a material thing just like a car is. So an $8K Rolex of yours is still of lesser value than let's say a $50 K truck of yours. Does that means she can't drive your truck too? or the family SUV that is $30K? |

I couldn't share with my wife easily because she'd have to take out links.

My wife wears all my watches except the Daytona. I don't think I'll ever get it back once she wears it

You share your life with your wife and worry about lending your watch?
There is something wrong, IMHO. |

I can tell I'm in a mood, because when I first glanced at this thread title I read:
Would you lend your wife for a Rolex? |

I would let my fiancée wear my rolex. But as of right now she doesn't want the gmt IIc because of the PCL. She herself don't want to add to thre scratches on it and my DSSD is too big for her. She currently likes to wear my omega smp 007. But i think she is just practicing for a subc LV. She is actually getting into watches and yesterday actually said "maybe I should collect watches too". She likes men's size watch so that's good for me. Maybe we can combine our collecton.

Most wives have keys to their house and the cars. A watch is much cheaper. No big deal.

My wife knows she can wear any of my watches and drive my car anytime she wants to. All she has to do is ask. It's a simple matter of trust.

Some of my previous wives I would say "Now Way!!!" The current one though absolutely so I kind of see where you're coming from.

You mean 'shshshshure--why not'!.
Hold it..sorry..I just re-read the OP's post. He was referring to Rolex watches. Fortunately my wife is only 5' tall and tiny. She doesn't like wearing watches bigger than 25mm.

No wife here yet, but if she respects your watches and doesn't just want want to wear them like a bangle, inadvertently scratching it up all the time, I don't see a problem.
