I bought two rolex from two different ad's in Minnesota and they both kept the warranty cards at the ad. Maybe your ad still has your card.

ADs sometimes withhold the card for up to a month, in case of returns, but you should get it after that. Sounds very fishy to me.

Agreed. I would not be ok with that. In fact, if they withheld my warranty card, I would not complete the deal.

If in fact rolex will replace the card for you, you'll have to get someone at he AD to make the arrangements and it will take at least 3-4 weeks, probably more. The key is the AD though. They can pull the strings to make it happen, but I don't believe they're obligated to in anyway so tread lightly.

Cannot understand why after the warranty period its just a bit of paper or plastic just like any warranty on any product. And these items don't always prove that the watch would be genuine as today bits of paper or plastic are quite easy to fake. And over the many years of being around Rolex watches seen a few that would fool most even today's WIS type

With only 6 months left on the warranty, should the watch need warranty service, I would think the bill of sale from the AD should be enough to prove the original sale date. The RSC could take it from there.

Papers are lost in fires every day in this country.

It shouldn't be a deal breaker. Tell the buyer you will attempt to make an effort to get a replacement but check with your AD first to see if it's possible. Good luck.

The sale price differences between rolex Watches with and without card or paper are about $500-$1000. Why is it so hard to understand the value of the piece paper or card?

While I keep all my boxes and papers I HAVE in the past purchased watches without these - pre-owned from reliable sellers...wouldn't stop me one bit - as long as I know where the watch is coming from.

It is always my preference to have but not a show stopper.

Like others have said - after the warranty it is essentially meaningless anyway...and it does NOT authenticate a watch...I don't see it as a deal breaker...

My AD kept the card, as my wife bought the watch for me as a surprise and they wanted to be sure that it would not be returned. I guess they didn't explain to her now important the card was and I didn't even know that I should have one until I joined TRF and read about it a few months later. I ask the wife about the card, and she said that the AD had it.

So I swing by the AD and they cannot find the card. The sales lady (who is a friend of ours) couldn't find it, but knows that she did not give it to my wife. She looked everywhere for it, and after a while said that she was going to talk to Rolex about a new one.

If I had an issue with the watch, I know that my AD would make sure that it was covered. I just want the card so that I have a complete set of box and papers. I hope she is able to get me another one, but it's not the end of the world of it doesn't work out.

But only to those who are willing to pay for in most cases a outdated warranty card and here is one guy that most certainly not.Watch condition and whether any service history is paramount especially with modern day Rolex. And if over a certain age with no service history then it would be prudent to get it serviced. And having not paid IMHO these stupid prices for a out dated warranty, that difference will pay to have watch serviced. Then after service you will get a service paper/card and that paper/card will have all the watch details and guess what will be a valid two year warranty.
