Rolex Sub lV- Whats going on? Vintage?

Im starting to see this watch for 10k and above.. what's going on ? are we turning crazy?.. I guess it is not even considered vintage right? Do you guys think discontinued= vintage?

I dont understand how specific models suddenly rise up in price so significantly and people buy into it? I saw a similar situation a few years ago with the Milgauss GV .. people thought they were going to be discontinued and there we a few crazy sells for 10k or above... look at it now...

I rememeber buying a LV in 2008 for 4.5k.

Is it a ceramic LV you saw with the new case?

Only the first release F and Y serial versions command that price. Not the latter which are more available.

16610LV green Subs are readily available for much less than $10,000. A first or second year, unworn 16610 LV might bring $10,000 or more from the right buyer, it all depends on how much someone wants it and how much they are willing to pay. I have seen some sellers asking $10,000 for later examples of unworn, original examples but they don't seem to be moving at those prices.

I prefer the older LV due to its size and aluminum bezel. It is the first sport Rolex model with maxi dial. I remember people were crazy about this green sub (bought more than one piece) at over retail price back in year 2003.

you can pick pre-owned 16610LVs in Canada for 7500-8500 cdn....

DavidSW has pre-worn LVs for $6800 and LNIB for $9800 and BNIB for $11875

not sure where your seeing pre-owned going for higher than 10K

nonetheless the LV does command a premium as will one day the DSSD-blue

this is a misconception....there is no 'old' version....the 116610LV is a green sub...the 16610LV is THE 50th anniversary sub....

Was than an F serial? That's crazy high unless it as the very first version. Just a "flat four" insert is not enough for me- it has to be the true first issue.

What makes you so sure that the DSSD-Blue would command a premium in the years to come??

the first serial with the flat 4 was made for less than 3 months. that one will go up exponentially in value. if it is NOS it will really fly.
