Dial question on 5513
I'm looking on the Internet at this 1966 5513. The seller claims the dial is original, but I see no patina or discoloring on the the hour marker especially compared to the condition of the hands. Any thoughts or opinions on this?
(Also, I understand the bezel insert is not original.) |

Well, you won't see much patina in that photograph anyway. It's black and white! Those hours plots could be yellow for all we know. You'll need more and better color photos to make an assessment. (The hands are obviously in rough shape.)
One thing to keep in mind in that not all vintage Rolexes take on patina the same way, and not all dials and hands age the same way. Sometimes the patina develops differently through the years and decades, leading to mismatched patina on the dial and hands. It can happen. |

I do believe the pictures are in color (they do look B+W). Your answer is what I was thinking, I had a vintage 5513 and depending on the bracelet or color of nato the patina would pop more. |

There are much better examples out there. Depends on the asking price, I guess. I'm not crazy about the case, either.
