Icon5 Rolex Explorer Ref. 214270 Help/Discussion

I'm considering the Explorer as my first Rolex. My question is does the Ref. 214270(2018) have ANY white gold? I know the numbers themselves don't have anymore by what is the material surrounding them? Rolex didn't specify anything. I'm also considering buying a white gold ring, does it go with the Explorer or is there some clashing or something? The ring is very expensive so I'd like to know before I look into it more. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, I'l new here. And if you have any opinions etc. about the watch, please give some!

I believe the markers are all outlined in white gold. That being said you won't have any issues if you buy a white gold ring.

Hi, good question, as Rolex uses 904L steel, which under some lighting conditions looks shinier than 316L surgical steel - IMHO. I have a platinum wedding ring (which I recommend over WG as WG will loose its luster after about 2 years) and it perfectly matches my Explorer (I have the Mark I. model which has 3-6-9 in WG, the new model you are looking at has 3-6-9 illuminated). Good luck!

Never actually even considered platinum before, that could be nice. And thanks for the help!

The WG ring and steel Rolex is a good match, IMO.

The hands, surrounds, and bezels of some models are WG, so it goes very well with steel.

Mine looks great with my platinum wedding band, and I expect an Explorer would look great with white gold jewelry, too. As mentioned in other replies, the metal bits (hands, indices) under the crystal of the Explorer are white gold.
