Help me learn about my new purchase

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a vintage Rolex and I'd like to learn more about it! If you can please teach me about the watch such that I can appreciate it more throughout daily use I would greatly appreciate it!

Serial #: 666019
Model #: 6056
Calibre: 710

From my understanding, the watch is fully original (if someone can please verify this). It has the original "Super Oyster Crown"

What I'd like to learn:

1) Exact year of the watch
2) Model name? My search shows SpeedKing, but no reference of that on the watch.
3) Is it all original?
4) Is this watch rare? I am told that this dial is relatively rare.

Thank you so much!

I have attached some pictures of the watch!

Thanks for your response.

I did the search and found the original post you’re referring to however I already knew these details from the seller.

I am looking to learn more about this particular watch/ model # , movement, etc.

Thank you!

OP, this post was only from a couple months ago. Is this the previous owner? Or, you, as the photos are the same.

Hi There,

Thank you for your comments. I apologize for the unclarity with this thread.

I bought the watch from Jason (He is the original poster of the thread quoted here). Both Jason and I had a discussion about the watch and the information posted on his thread is the same information that I have as well.

I was hoping to learn more about the watch -- per my questions above. Any resource/information would be helpful as I'm not finding much on the web on my own.

Thank you all for your help and this amazing resource of a website you have.

To expand on this post. The watch is arriving today, I can take additional pictures if it will help unfold the history behind this piece.

Thanks,

Thank you so much!

I have attached some pictures of the watch!
1) Probably ~1950. Rolex began re-numbering in 1955, but started stamping the caseback then, to avoid confusion.

2) "model name" was a badge applied to some, but not all, models of the same watch. SpeedKing was one of several names for the same reference number.

3) It is unlikely for a 75 year old watch to be in that condition and be all original. It may be an excellent restoration, but my money would not be on original.

4) Rare? Most 75 year old watches are rare. Rare dial?... Perhaps that is just a way of saying that you won't find one like it during your research.

Thank you very much!

Is there any way for me to verify the authenticity of the dial? Perhaps I can take some clearer pictures of the dial? Both Jason and I are under the impression that he bought it off the original owner and that it was all original.

Thank you,

Your photos aren't close up or clear enough to make a true assessment of the dial
