Wow didn’t know that existed, thanks Russ though not sure I wouldn’t worry about putting a very expensive watch in it, I would be a little worried for sure, or wait 10 years to see if they didn’t have problems

Not sure if Patek will again make black dial next year for the p version.
Could be wrong but don’t they only release the P models like 5270, 5970 or 5070 in only one dial?

Well I'm pretty sure Buben & Zorweg make the best quality winders so they will of done their homework. Of course running a watch continually will cause wear compared to not running it but then it depends how often you wear it and the effort/wear saved in not resetting the PC functions. I generally have my complications on a winder so would consider this winder as an option for such a piece.

I believe there were several dial variations for the 3970P. So it is conceivable that there would be different dial versions for the 5270P.

Can’t wait to see it in person. Do you imagine this will be hard to obtain?

Just checked the price. I might not be adding one to my collection any time soon.

If you are planning to buy, take a trip to Europe.

This model can't be such difficult to obtain compared to those nautilus models. You get a full 21% tax refund if the shop you purchase is willing to do the paper work for you, not through global blue or premier tax.

This is by far my favorite release from the show. I have been considering a 5970 or 5270 for quite some time now, and I think this is going to make my decision easy!!!!

I added myself to a few lists for this and the new nautilus! I’m hopeful to add both, but if I have to pick one, it will be the 5270 salmon.

It looks fab on pics but not sure it will look good on white pale skin as it is very similar to skin colour.

Unsurpassed dial color and platinum can’t be beat. I prefer the look of the hour sticks on the R’s dial versus having 5 numerals on the P.

Wonderful. Having owned four versions of the 5270/5271 and two versions of the 5970 this I think is preferable to all the others even perhaps the epic 5970p. Looks like I will have two Patek incoming threads to post having had no Pateks for newrly two years - this one and another one that will require one of my silly teaser threads in the next two weeks or so. Watch this space.

The way to enjoy this watch is to wear it when the mood suits you and not set or worry over the PC. if you can live with this, this is a watch you will keep forever. When you fuss over manual wind winders this watch will drive you nuts. If you never go anywhere and have a routine to wind your watches daily (like me) this is a perfect addition to your collection. As so many have said, manual wind PC? Sort of horse and buggy whip.

I’ve yet to see a picture of this watch to convince me this is not perfect.

Stephen the only question is buy immediately at full whack, or take the view that it may be available a fair bit cheaper down the line?

A genuine question, as this is my dilemma.

Precisely where I am! Will you miss it if you don’t get it now and it’s limited, as it appears it might be(maybe?)... If it’s a “forever” watch, then should it matter? The answers to these questions seem so obvious one moment, and not the other...

Now there is an interesting thought. This adds some confusion to my thinking. As we all know, every AD will expect you to pay full MSRP FOR THIS BRAND NEW, gorgeous watch that is in high demand.

Congrats Roger on your incoming. Looking forward to it!

Definitely planning to live vicariously through the new owners on this...not wanting to move some of my collection just to buy this....if I was old enough and considered slimming down collection to a couple pieces though...this would be on that list. Beautiful execution...just not baller enough to drop that kind of coin on a watch on a whim.

5370G? It exists only in P and costs 228k, not sure which watch you are thinking of but not this reference

The one thing that could be improved with this judging by the pics and vids is the depth of colour of the salmon. It looks a bit on the pale side and almost yellowish at times, and much like an AP RO I nearly bought on the spot, instead of a 5164 I had gone in to see, but for this similar pale salmon colour. Guess I like my salmon more smoked than poached.

What is it then? Too pinkish? I have not really seen good photos in good lighting. The photos I have scene make the dial look a tad dark.
