I think the GMTs are first priority and surprised it wasn't put on more models, think the subs are after that and will done in one fell swoop.

I say they will take some more time to see the reaction to the 22mm bracelet on the SD43 and DSSD before a Sub relaunch. The SS Subs and Daytonas are Rolex's babies.

I must admit the only time I get excited for a new movement is if they can extend the service interval or increase accuracy. Increased power reserve does not get me excited enough to delay a purchase, that’s for sure.

Their service intervals should be better with the new movement and lube tech, given they're confident to give that 5yr warranty across the board.

I bought my first sub 2 months ago pre owned, and I can't be happier. Especially now that I see Rolex coming up with some debatable GMT II...

Power Reserve is already more than enough. Accuracy is already outstanding. Its nice for technical reasons to say you have a 70hr PR but does it really change your life even by .001% of watch ownership?? If you really must have a 70hr PR, then buy a wind-up box and call it a day.

New movement is nice for sure, but I really couldn't care less; the existing movement is just fine in every Rolex I have.

If you have a no date sub (like I do), power reserve isn't much an issue. Set the time, wind, and that's it. If you have a GMT, I could see why having an extended power reserve might be nice.

Buy a pre-owned Sub now with some love marks already on it at a reduced price. Wear the piss out of it and enjoy. If by next year they come out with something new...or a more desireable movement, sell it and get the new one. At least you will have had a year of wrist time (likely 18 mos) and perhaps a new friend, if you dont want to let it go at that point.

Waiting till BW2019 makes no sense at all, you'd be looking at a very long wait post announcement if any and missing out on enjoying your watch now. If I was in the market for this super case Sub, I'd get it now.

When the SubC gets the new 3235 caliber, the LVc will be discontinued.
This is just my prediction of course! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Buy it now. The 3135 is rock solid. Who know when the Sub will get a new movement?
BTW, life is short! |
