Hate to disappoint but these CAD renders, plus the latest videos which clearly show a supercase, plus all the comments from Hodinkee and others (who have directly asked Rolex reps at Basel) = just one thing: this case is the same with a slightly different finish to improve "lustre" whatever that means.

Hilarious how hard it is to accept this!

Fair enough bud, but Rolex states "The lugs and sides of its Oyster case have been redesigned" Not just polished differently.

No one is saying its not a "supercase" Just that it appears (from the live pictures of the actual watch) to be subtly different.

Either way, you cannot just use the renders to confirm or deny it.

And, as said above, Hodinkee got the SD43 dial finish wrong, so I'll not be so quick as to simply accept their observation.

If you can direct me to comments from Rolex reps, however, I'd appreciate that

Whether there's an actual difference or not really doesn't matter -- if the difference is so small that folks are arguing about whether it's even there, then it not going to change anyone's mind on the case design.

(And if the difference is so small that Rolex doesn't bother using different CADs for the official pics, then it must be truly trivial.)

My friend, I think you have to just trust your own eyes. Look at the pics, the videos, all the stuff that's been posted. If there is a difference, it is so minute as to be imperceptible. If it takes an electron microscope to see the difference, does it really matter? It's still the supercase (which I actually am a fan of)

Yep.

Changes are very clear. They changed how they polish it. They made changes so you can't swap the bracelet, but no doubt someone will figure out how to do so.

Bottom line: The lugs aren't any bigger or smaller and the supercase remains as is.

It will sink in eventually.

I don’t know how accurate these renders are, but the crown guards are longer on the BLRO.

Unless the side profile is different I do not see any difference.

I can already tell they are from the photo. Look at the end pieces, the end of which indicates spring bar location) on the Oyster vs. Jubilee bracelets: They are MUCH shorter on the new Jubilee, indicating that the lug holes are much closer to the watch (further away from the ends of the lugs).

You need to do the same thing but with the lines running horizontally. That way it will be possible to see whether the lugs are longer on the new one. I guarantee that the end pieces on the bracelet are shorter, the question is whether that is creating the illusion of longer lugs, or whether it is in fact the case.

I’m not talking about moving the hole in the lugs. Rather modifying the endlinks on a donor oyster bracelet. You’d then have the option of jubilee or oyster. I’ve filled in and redrilled holes on other items before. This is no different and not difficult at all to do.

More confirmation that the lugs are exactly the same size.

Start at 2:07:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI21PqbJRfk

Also take a look at 1:27 and 2:23 which both show that we are looking at a good old supercase.

Perfect example of marketing hyperbole, guys. These are not longer and thinner lugs. The case "size" is the same.

I don't see skinnier lugs. I see more tapered (i.e. longer) lugs that have the same width at the end.

New slimmer better lugs is Rolex Newspeak for we changed it so you cannot put an oyster bracelet on it. It's more less the same just a little different.

Hard to tell for sure here about width because I don't know if they're to the same scale and light reflects differently off of SS vs WG.

Someone else said this, and I'll say it again. If there is a change, it's so small, that it's virtually indistinguishable. Therefore, the Supercase remains. It is not going away.

I don,t think the lugs are LONGER i think the bezel is smaller, giving the illusion of longer lugs.
This being the case then Rolex have made it so you cannot use the bezel or insert into another gmt, ie, blnr or ln.
The case IS a different profile.

I can’t believe that certain posters are arguing that the lug top area visible in this picture is the exactly the same size and shape for each case

Again, no one said it’s not a super case.

You do know that the sub and pre Basel 18 GMT super cases are different, yeah?

Not all super case designs are identical.

I think lugs are same from front, both lenght and thicknes. What looks bit different is side profile of the lug, curve looks different. But yes, still (for me) ugly blocky supercase...
