My AD told me they have been tasked to stop flippers, no warranty cards going out with the sale, all the plastic off and other stuff they are not allowed to tell me.

Also said if you have not bought a couple of watches from then you zero chance

Yesterday within 10 minutes of my AD opening they told me list was already closed at five years. Hilarious. Good job of fending off clients.

A realistic AD would tell you that they don't even know yet when the production is going to start rolling in, and when they will receive their first shipment, and how many it might be.

Given all of the above unknown, and by just guesstimating the public interest, no AD can give anyone a realistic wait time.

I remember back in 2003-2004 I would see the same SS Pepsi sitting in the showcase of my local AD week after week. The assumption that 'public' will go crazy over ordering Pepsi is premature, in my opinion.

if you see a ton of sports models sitting in cases while walking down your local street, it isn't as desirable?

It’s more desirable to see empty cases? I know when i drive past a Ferrari dealership, I think, “boy, the Ferrari luster is definitely gone. They actually have cars on their lot.”

Best answer. With Rolex you don't want to have a fatal attraction to what may be the watch du jour of a WIS herd. Consider picking up the new Tudor GMT equivalent and watch and wait to see how things work out.

That is ridiculous. At the end of the day, it's only a watch.

If it’s any consolation, I’ve been on the South West Cues waitlist actually since 2008. I heard from them last year that my order will be up in 2019. The big thing is they’ll actually take and deliver my order rather than telling me to go play in traffic during the interim.

I wonder why Rolex doesn't just attach the warranty to the buyer rather than to a card. You buy the watch, register, get the warranty tied to the watch serial number. Forget the card. We have computers now, it's 2018.

The ADs must be frustrated w Rolex having gone through the latest SS "shortage". Must be difficult to see them hype new models when an AD can't even get old models that customers want.

I guess 7 years is pretty good compared to that.

They should learn how to “sell.” Would you buy art from a buffoon? My parents buy art and don’t get trashed by saleswomen

I was corresponding with my AD about a different item today and, out of curiosity, asked him AD about the SS BLRO waitlist. He told me there's already 30+ people on their waitlist and they'd be lucky if they see 3 of them this year.

I'm glad that the SS BLRO isn't on my shortlist, seeing as it would've been automatically put on my longlist, lol.

Rolex should stop making watches altogether and just promote waiting lists.

They could announce a desirable watch, sign everyone up. The next year, announce the next best thing and move everyone over. Rinse and repeat, forever.

They won’t ever have to deliver a watch.

This whole waitlist thing is becoming beyond ridiculous. And totally demeaning. I have got self respect, and would never put myself in such a position.

Good luck to those of you who do!

Cheers,
Carl

I'm number two at my AD. The gal told me they don't know how many they will get or when. I don't know what to tell you guys. It's a hobby. Waiting for a watch and chatting with you over a beer is what it is all about. Cheers
