BB Noir ETA for the new BB 58?

Too early to tell but would you do the flip? I’m getting interest on mine for a good price but I actually like it. I also fee I would like the new one with the smaller size and definitely welcome the thinner profile...

Advice? If you’re a current owner on the Noir ETA, what’s your take on this new release?

I would. I currently own the red ETA and will probably flip it for a 58. Much prefer it to the ETA black, too, which I think will be less popular now, "only 3,000 made" or not.

I’d keep the noir eta if it was me given it’s limited production.

Would not sell. The 58 looks good...but off the mark for me with the gilt numbers on the bezel insert.

Never sell. Flipping is a fools errand. Roses only exist in small numbers. Roses likely will never appear again on a Tudor dial. Every Rose Tudor will become highly collectible.

And the hands seem too large and the difference in width is negligible. But if you prefer 39 vs 41 that’s a valid point but 2mm is a very small difference.

No way I'm selling or flipping my BBN ETA. Aside from loving the watch, it is also my first and only Tudor. I'm amazed at the value in the Tudors. I'm a bigger guy and like the size as well.

Love the bb except the thickness of them. The eta is much better than the in house, however, that 58 has the perfect thickness imo. Tough call, if you can add it do that for sure, if not, go with what you'll wear more.

I do like the sleeker profile. Do we think May for these or earlier?

I’ve been asking if it’s discontinued and so far it’s not but in a sense the BB 36, 41 already replaces it. It’s just a matter of time. Tudor has all but removed or muted the Rose. Even the Rose on crowns are less obvious. It’s clear the future is the shield.

The thickness is going to be negligible compared to ETA Tudors. Compared to in house 41 yes the 58 is much sleeker.

My wrist is 6.5. I never understood those who complained about the Rose ETA’s. Fits me perfectly. The Rose ETA is nearly identical in thickness with my Ceramic Sub and only 1mm wider. The Black Bay looks taller but it’s not. It’s an illusion.

Not yet. See how it goes and what the demand is first. Some of you may dislike the dial but overall this is a spot on piece in terms of the desirable check-offs. ETA is always easier to service, but an in-house and really appealing model is always the best money in the bank.

Should have had square hour markers...I also hate that silly crown tube. Yuck.

Missing lug holes on a vintage throw back was also a major miss.

Apart from all that...the thinness is nice.

Lug holes would have made me a big believer in the 58. Changing straps on the Black Bay is a bastard.

Not sure how to describe it but there’s something very special, aesthetically speaking, of the Black Rose the first time you try it on. I wouldn’t mind if the case was a little thinner but the overall look and feel of it is there.
It’s tough to say if the 56 will be the same or better until you see in the flesh.

An experience not many have had as there are not many of these made $2-$3000. The Rose logo and smiley text just looks and feels like a $15,000 vintage piece. Fortunately I believe you can still occasionally find one for a bit under $5,000. Yes there were a few on eBay at $8500, I have no idea if they sold. Collectors are hording these.

Put the pipe down.

I might have to sell a watch for the first time ever because one person is ruining my enjoyment

I for one really like the new BB58, I will likely flip my BBN for that or the new GS SBGH267, Seiko in the lead.

You will be full of regret when the FS boards are filled with 58’s for $2000 and the occasional BBN selling for a fortune. Bang your head on that thought.

Don’t sell. Noir is the perfect black rose.

BB 58 is an awesome release from Tudor but it would not make sense to flip that beauty (79220N) for a M79030N.
