Trade my Daytona SS for AP15400 ?

Friends, what is your opinion on trading my Rolex Daytona SS white dial for AP15400 (new ). I like both but want to know some your expert opinions.

Thanks,
RM

Ceramic Daytona? Not likely.
Pre-ceramic - maybe.

I wouldn’t trade a white ceramic Daytona for it. The 15400st is much more available than the Daytona. If it were a blue dial 15202st then yes.

I didn't do a direct swap but sold my 116520 white dial Daytona and ended up with a silver dial 15400st. Between the two, 15400 all day long.

As much as I like the 15400, I wouldn’t do it.

Yes.
Daytona looks outdated, and talking about scratch magnet Daytona pre-Ceramic is the worst.
I did trade my Daytona for AP26331ST Panda

I’d keep the Daytona but that’s a win win choice either way.

I traded my 116520 to a 15400. Daytona is crap. AP is on a whole another level.

I’d trade a 116520 but not a 16520 or 116500.

Agreed, couldn't have said it better myself -- 15202st > 116500ln > 16520 > 15400st > 116520.

Wow. I just looked up the reference numbers for the APa and realized they are definitely not for me - they do not appeal me at all! Keep your Daytona!

Are you referring to the dial color of the AP in this question?

If I had a white Daytona C, I would only consider trading it for the AP if it was the navy dial. Assuming you appreciate the look of the navy dial, this would be the only acceptable trade on a $ value basis. The white, grey, and black dial AP15400 are readily available at boutiques. If they don't happen to have one in stock, you should be able to get one within a month (yes, even as a first time customer). The navy dial is the only tough one to get new and only one that really comes with a price premium (for buyers who cannot get it directly from a AP boutique).

Yes. What have you timed lately with the full chrono function?

Maybe go on the AP forum and ask if they would trade that model for a Daytona.

You're absolutely correct about the blue dial AP. But from some of the prices I've seen (both for the Daytona and blue dial AP) and the easy availability of the other dial colors brand new, I think that would be the fairest trade. Btw - are we talking about a used AP here in this trade or brand new?

I’ve owned both and love the Dayton’s 100x more than the 15400. Now a 15202... maybe!
