5940 my personal choice (I am a fan of the cushion case)

5140. Value.

I got the 5940 about a year ago. It looks great but it wear really small. I do t have a big wrist but just don’t like the size of it.

I think it looks better on my girlfriend than it does me.

Shame as I love the cushion style too.

looks good.

consider that dress watch dial size is typically larger than sports watch.

smaller dress watch larger dial vs bigger sports watch.

if you are not comfortable with it of course that's your call but sometimes just wearing it a bit may help with a fresh perspective?

one of my favorite things are how it disappears on the wrist with its slim profile

I guess you are right, I haven’t really given it enough wrist time.

One thing is for sure, the cushion case is so thin, it’s a delicate piece and I’m happy to have it in the collection.

For some reason it just looks too small on my eye when I look at it on the wrist.

I’ll give it some more love and wrist time and report back

3940, though I'm biased as an owner. I think 36mm is perfect but then again this depends on your wrists. The typography is clean and legible. The subdials are perfectly balanced. My issue with the 5140 has always been the size and presentation of the typography which appears crowded around the subdials.

Are there any other models I should look at that are around the same price range and what I should look out for when purchasing one of these older models?

Also would be nice if you can include a wrist pic, thanks!
I’m biased, but love the 5059 (find the size better than the 5159). As others have said, it is less “loved” than other Patek PCs but I’m a fan of the retrograde date. I’ve had one for 5 years now and I’m a huge fan. At one point I considered selling it, might still eventually (mostly just cycling my collection) so let me know if you are interested.

5320 will be my choice - cream or salmon. 5140 was a modern take of the earlier classic PC but unfortunately the movement was not upgraded to follow the case size. The 5320 is just perfect IMHO.
