I think it is more about a reaction to inflation and costs than trying to capture the maximum willingness to pay. VC supply is fairly low. They could probably increase further and still sell all watches that come in. Average 6% per year increase in the US is a lot at this price range, but not that crazy during these times.

It will be interesting to see how much the increase clears out the current wait list and if Overseas will be more readily available. I'm sure the Chronos will be at least. And then to see how it trickles down to the pre-owned market.

This price increase will just hurt VC and usher in discounts at the ADs by next year the latest. The secondary market hasn't moved in price, and with this msrp increase the secondary market prices are lower than msrp for most models.
It will definitely hurt sales at ADs.
VC should have been just patient, rather than increasing the prices substantially when the resale values are still falling.

Very stupid price increase, most Overseas watches now at or below retail in grey market. I think those long waiting times at VC is going to disappear very quick soon.

I think it's important to remember vacheron did not increase price over the last two years while other brands under richemont have done so in smaller steps, but overall much more than vacheron.
Guess this proves average consumers are much more sensitive to one big price move but much less so towards multiple steps up even though the latter results in a much higher overall price rise

That's what I was told by the Melbourne boutique when I picked up my 4500V about a month ago. VC wants to be boutique only to give the brand more control over pricing and allocations.

Still waitlisted for 7900V blue dial - hopefully the 13% increase where I am will shorten the waitlist for this.

Glad I got my fiftysix day date 4400E earlier this year before its 37% increase!

Not an overseas but giving the only VC in my collection some wrist time. Haven’t worn it in a while but do enjoy it when I do.

Does VC have a stated accuracy range for the Overseas cal 5100?
Geneva Seal requirement is +/- 60 sec/week but do VC have a stricter tolerance?
One would hope for better than +/- 8.5 sec/day at the price point.

All luxury clothing and jewellery brands in my country have increased prices several times over the last 2 years, some of them by double digit percentages each time. VC price increase is expected and in line with other brands, however here this is the second price increase for VC in 1.5 years, and from speaking to the AD it sounds like they had increases before that too which she said were ‘unprecedented’.

Stores in Japan don’t have stock, almost everything is waitlisted at VC, so there is more demand at ADs than supply.

The price increase is definitely helping with availability. Of course two days into the price hike I get a call on a piece I've been waiting some time for. Didn't hesitate to say yes even though the market seems really soft right now.

Am I reading this correctly? The Fifty six Date Day is now the same price as a Fifty six Complete Calendar at $27,400?

I recalled it was already the same price before this recent price increase.

In Europe the QC was 30k and the DD 23k, both after tax. Now both at 30k.

Man, I have been out of the VC loop lol. I remembered couple years ago the Day Date was a tiny bit lower in price than the Complete Calendar.

Bumping this... Not that I'm exactly in the market, but this piece has me very curious...

Prior to the price increase here in Hong Kong, the fiftysix day date was HKD 159,000 and now has gone up to HKD 219,000 (same as complete calendar). The complete calendar was more expensive beforehand (can't remember exact price) but it is now the same price as the day date. When I bought my day date earlier this year the SA did say he thought the watch was underpriced...as this recent price increase seems to back.

Very happy I bought my day date prior to the 37% price increase!

Finally joined the club. I've admired the Dual Time for ages from afar but without having the opportunity to handle one in person, I was afraid it would be too big for my 16.5cm wrist.

While on a flight back from Thailand last week a gentleman sitting across the aisle from me, shout out to Amhed, kindly let me try his Dual Time on and play with it a bit and that was it. It just about looked fine, any bigger would have been too big. So that was it, I had to have one.

Literally as soon as I got home I began the search for a black dial DT. I managed to track one down first sold in 11/2022 for what was lower than list price at that time. Full set and absolutely looking like new, even the leather strap was sealed and unworn.

Looks amazing! I’ve always loved the black dial DT. The splash of red really adds something.

The black dial is underrated. While I understand why blue has such an allure, I can't justify the price differential in the secondary market (I wouldn't be able to purchase retail, not from what I've been hearing about VC ADs the past few years).

Unfortunately, for blue dial Overseas money, there are so many other options out there.

I will wear it mainly on the rubber strap and will order a grey one so that I can swap every now again.

The black rubber strap it came with measures 75mm / 115mm and I'm on the second from last hole. I am wondering whether to go for the shorter length which is 65mm / 105mm as the buckle is not quite centred.

Any advice?
