6119 Strap Options
Hey guys,
Was just wondering what other strap options there would be for the 6119 since the OEM strap looks so formal. I know its a dress watch but I just love it and wish there was a way to daily it with a casual to smart casual vibe. I've heard that you are able to get other OEM straps from the Patek AD and they have a catalogue for you to choose from (not sure if this is true). Or are there any other third party strap companies that you guys would recommend? Cheers, |

Patek AD's have a full catalogue of OEM straps to order. in addition they can custom make any color/leather/stitching combination.

Straps can change a watch so much indeed.
It depends whether you have R or G but grey, blue, beige are nice colors for watches. As for the material, matte is more modern than a shiny croc. Ostrich pattern can be nice (and very different). Though I saw a very nice 5960P grey dial with a white Nato, I don't think it would suit the 6119 as well. But subjective matter in the end. I saw several suede-like ones (like the ones provided with the 5326, 5172 for instance). They looked nice on demonstration models but I noticed they seem to age quickly. Maybe would it be different with a "unique" owner. Some owners can maybe bring their experience on that point. I think there is a lot to get from straps, it's an exciting exercize. |

I tried a number of straps to try and change the character a bit of my sector 5296 but now only think dark blue or black alligator look coherent and show that watch at its best. If I had darker skin perhaps some light nubuck, but my shade of pink doest work and since the watch is high polish all around it just is a bit more formal and that’s ok. Still great with any shirt that has buttons. Have other watches for t shirts.
I really think a 6119 will be ill-suited to anything but dark alligator. Like you wouldn’t dress down a warm gold tank with a casual strap, you just wear it as it is. |

The OEM strap darkens AND turns less glossy, almost matte, with a bit of wear. I wear mine with jeans and shorts, and it's perfectly casual, even in rose gold. I never thought that'd be possible with a rose gold dress watch, but it just works. So, I say: stick with the OEM.
If you want a matte strap from the get-go, you could always order one from Patek. They have a pretty extensive strap catalogue at all ADs. Sent from my SM-F700U1 using Tapatalk |

Yea definitely thinking on getting a separate OEM strap for my 6119g now. Saw some pics of others matching it with a lighter/brighter color and it looks great. Thanks for the help guys!

As others said, go in and look at the catalog! Just picked up a few straps for a 5116, about 4-5 months wait for a color not in stock

A fellow member (AJW232) of this forum on the "6119g vs 6119r" thread had his 6119g combined with an orange alligator strap. (Unfortunately I don't have enough posts to attach an image but you can go to that thread for a look.)
As for a yellow strap on the 6119g it would be extremely bold color combination that could work quite well and would definitely dress down the watch a whole lot. . |

Got a Grey leather strap ordered when I purchased mine, hoping it looks as good as I imagine it would when it comes in.

No it’s made by Jean Rousseau. I think Camille Fournet make the OEM straps.

Grey I bought this from Molequin (no association). Here are the specs that are the same as the factory band. Material - Nubuck Color - Petrole Size - 21mm Length - 115/75mm Buckle - Standard (I swapped with factory Patek buckle from original band) Spring bars - Quick release spring bars Price came to approx. $120 including delivery (to US) which I thought was cheap given how much I have paid for Patek straps in the past. Happy to help. I am planning on buying some other colors, but wanted to see what I was getting first…the quick release bars make swapping out so much easier. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No concern. All spring bars are usually stainless. You would not want white gold spring bars, they are too soft.

Sorry for the side track but I have always been told you should never use SS spring bars in a gold case for that specific reason - they will destroy (the holes in the) case due to the SS being harder?

Thanks, the purple is by Hughes_handcrafted on Instagram who is based out in Singapore. A few years back when I was over I went to his workshop and then a family member brought it back to the U.K. for me. Excellent quality.
I heard the same, I just re-use the spring bars which came with the watch. |

Sorry for the late reply. Both straps are not OEM.
On left is a Light Grey Nubuck from Delugs. On right is a Grey Suede from Molequin. |

I heard Molequin makes very nice straps. I currently have one from A Collected Man (which I believe is the same as Molequin).
Very comfortable and comes with different options. I'm not a big fan of the thicker OEM straps either so this is perfect so far. |
