Incoming 5205-R

Hi everyone, I am very happy/grateful to have been allocated a 5205-R. This is my first Patek after starting my collection 2-3 years ago. I registered my interest on the day of its announcement last year after the lovely black dial was discontinued. It was always a dream to own a Patek complication piece, and it feels really special!

The olive dial is very different to the Rolex Olive dial. I have found the pin/buckle to be more comfortable for my odd shaped wrist, however would have preferred the deployment if it had worked for me. Patek were very helpful to find the perfect fit (tried various different strap sizes).

Patek have been absolutely wonderful, I have nothing but great things to say about their staff. I have attached some pictures below, but to be honest they do not do the dial or strap justice whatsoever. I find the watch to be dynamic under different lighting conditions, and I am no expert but would encourage anyone interested to try this on in person.

I hope the photos below help anyone deciding on this piece

Incoming 5205-R

One of my favorite modern Patek references.

Once you see it in person the only word to describe it is “perfect”

This is such a nice moment to enjoy indeed. I saw this version a year ago and it indeed looks fantastic and so different.

Wear it in the best of health :)

Congratulations. Wear it in good health.

You can buy the rose gold Calatrava logo deployant clasp which will fit the watch, though it won't be cheap. Strap lengths are different for deployant clasps and prong buckles though so you'll also need to buy a new strap(s).

AD should be able to order for you. If not, the London Salon are helpful. I purchased the steel deployant for the 5212A from them as I dislike prong buckles.

Thanks for your input! Yes the staff at Patek went through all the different strap sizes with me, and I found the pin/buckle was more comfortable than any of the strap sizes with the deployment clasp. My wrist has an odd shape and the deployment kept digging into the wrist. Deployant does look great!

Nice, congratulations, beautiful flooring too

I can relate to that feeling really well, the WG version was my first Patek. It does feel really special doesn’t it?

Thanks everyone much appreciated. KM95 I hope you get allocation soon!

PS: As I am new to Patek can anyone give advice on where the unique serial number for the watch is located? I tried googling and can't find a proper answer for this model. Also, the rotor makes a noise upon movement from what I have researched seems to be normal? Thank you in advance!

It's inside the case, the caseback must be removed to see it.
