Reliability AP Chrono
Hello guys,
Nico Leonard is stating that the movement from recent AP Chrono's is not that good. His and some of his friends watches needed to go back to AP to get an service done within the warranty. He is stating this in a new youtube interview which he done with Switch Watch Gang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkpo-kKXWEY Are you guys having the same experiences? I'm waiting for mine from the AP House :) But we are talking about an 35k watch here, is it really that bad? On a side note, check out his one piece special platinum AP, insane watch! |

For the old F Piguet movement, it's been pretty reliable for me. No issues on either the time or chrono module.
The new movement...oy....lots of issues. Had one where chrono register would move without being set (i.e. not the second hand but the minute counter), another gained time quite a bit, maybe 2 minutes over a 1 week period, but then would stop gaining time...etc etc. So out of 3 watches with new movement, have had issues with at least 2 of them. My real pet peave on the new movement is that the chrono advances incrementally with the minute, so it makes it actually a bit hard to reach just by glancing at the minute counter. Finally, FWIW, I think the service center go very, very back logged last year with warranty work, so I suspect this was a pretty big issue once they scaled up delivery of the movement to include ROC plus the Code chronos. |

I serviced my carbon ROO last year with APNA and did a total overhaul replacing the movement with the update 3126 and its been great thus far. Knock on wood.

I have had multiple ROCs over the last decade, never a single issue.

I've had no issues with my chrono movements in both the older ROO's and ROC's.
