Great shots.....thanks for sharing that classic with us. You seem to have the same FLAT "S" on the SUBMARINER as mine.

Look at the first letter "S" on the word SUBMARINER on your dial. The "S" is flat on top and bottom.....just like in my watch below....



Now take a look at this "S" on my ex Bluesy.....and you will notice that it's rounded on top and bottom....

What does flat "S" suggest? Is it specific to some serial or model year?

No, no....nothing like that. Just that Rolex sometimes uses different dial printers, so each of them has their own fonts and styles. The result is you get some small differences in the printing.
