My first AP

A few weeks I posted trying to decide between the 26401RO and the 26400SO blue camo. I was able to try the RO on in an AD, I liked it but thought it would be a hard watch to wear in a casual environment so that was a no. I contacted AP house in London and spoke to a guy called Thomas and he said they didn’t have the blue but they have the green version instock, i made an appointment with him to see the watch just to see what it was like because like the blue almost every pic online showed the watch in a completely different way. I got there a little early and was seated in the lounge area of the apartment and waited for Thomas to bring me the watch and I have to say I think it was the quickest decision of my life, I instantly feel in love with it and I have to say the service at AP is unbelievable, I mentioned to Thomas we’re were going harrods next so he ordered us a town car to take us free of charge.

Can I ask the U.K. guys on here who you insure your watches with? My home insurance won’t cover it and the only quote I’ve had is over £1000 for the year, hoping so more companies get in touch on Monday with quotes.

That’s a statement piece and a big watch but it fits your wrist perfectly. Looks fantastic! I can see why it was a quick decision for you. Thank you for sharing your pics and experience with us who don’t have a nearby boutique and are stuck at home!!!

Congrats, great choice! AP House is a lovely little place to stop off on Bond St and have a quick drink and visit the loo, much better than McDonalds. I think they should put a pool table in there too and maybe a dartboard.

Love the new watch!

How is a Royal Oak difficult too wear as a casual watch? It's a simple steel sportswatch.

I was on about the 26401RO and I thought having such a large gold watch would be difficult to dress down, it why I went with a SS model

Thanks everyone for the comments, this was my first high end watch purchase and AP really do go that extra mile for you. I bought the wife a yacht master 37mm from GS in Liverpool last week and we weren’t even offered a drink while we were there

Looks great on !

Haven’t been to the new AP house yet, but looking forward to popping by next time I’m in town.

Regarding insurance, try hiscox as part of the contents/building cover. Was about the same for everything including all jewellery & watches as a stand alone policy.

Lovely piece and wear in good health.

Interestingly I was sat on the same sofa a few weeks back. AP house is stunning.

Congrats on a great looking watch! As for insurance I have never used them personally but assetsure seem to provide sensible quotes. Give them a try perhaps?

I tried them and they won’t insure me because of my age. I’m 29 but the guy said I fall into that high risk category. Thought it was weird myself!

So cool. Very nice pick up. You can also try a white strap for a change, would look sharp!
