Open Worked Long Term Expierence?
Does anyone by chance have a long term review/experience with the openwork? Either in SS or RG? I'm curious for how you feel about the watch, especially does it ever get boring.
Assuming you weren't worried about damage from wearing it for days on end, I'm wondering how many days straight you feel you can wear it before getting bored and rotating out to another watch. Thanks! |

I had the 39mm version in SS a few years back. It was pretty cool but I did get bored of it. Not the most practical everyday watch for me. The skeletonized dial is a work of art but suffers from poor legibility. I replaced it with a Patek 5712 which I find is a lot better with legibility.

I have a possible 15407OR in sights, but obviously it's a very painful buy if it doesn't vibe well and ends up being an infatuation. |

Over thinking it. This is so personal no one can answer for you. For me, it’s not going anywhere. May not wear that frequently, mainly because I have too many. No one watch gets a plurality of wrist time.

For me I'm just as thrilled as the day I got it and couldn't imagine it getting "boring". Though it's not a daily for me but I'm always smiling inside when I do throw it on.

I had short lived experience with the SS39. The excitement burned off little fast for me as I had the same experience as forum member Vipes. Size was great but legibility was too poor for me to justifying keeping and or even would consider it as a daily.
Might be different for you so best of luck! |

I had the rose gold version for 2 years. It was never a daily wearer but it was great to have in the collections. I started getting into more complicated pieces and it made way for a tourbillon. I wouldn’t say I miss it though...

Thanks for the view points and experiences everyone - very helpful.
I think I'm going to continue to track down the perpetual calendar first and maybe a PP 64 before turning my attention back to the open work model. and Chiscott if you're reading this, will be curious how you feel about the design after another 2 months or so. |

What I can already tell is I will NEVER get bored with the 15407. It's mesmerizing and I will always enjoy the look of it. I also think the color contrast of the hands overcomes most of the legibility concerns. The 15305 is more monochrome so I can see how it would be more pronounced on that one. My fear is will I change my position to where this watch is taking up too much of my watch budget? Will I say "I could have 2 or 3 watches I really enjoy instead of just this one"? We will see. I'll definitely keep you posted! |
