First Patek 5226g?

I have a fairly good relationship with my ad from purchasing Rolex over the last few years but looking to move into a Patek. Official AD of both brands.

I really like the 5226g - is this a viable first patek purchase or am i dreaming ?

THANKS

I am in a similar situation and have been thinking the same thing.

Really like it on the dark strap

Great 1st ( or 10th) PP watch, great strap options, movement and amazing dial... Go for it.

I like the 5226g for its textured dial although not everyone would agree and find it “unPatek-like”.

I walked in to a Patek AD and had a nice chat with the manager. At first I was asking about some of the complications and an Aquanaut which he said just wasn’t going to happen. They had a 5226g as an exhibition piece and it looks way better in person. I asked for that one and he did make it sound like it was doable and took my information down. Been a few months now with no call but I guess Patek can take years to come through.

Yesterday MODA had the auction for this 5226G, the winner price was $39300.

It seems like a great price and cheaper than MSRP+tax.

I was watching that. There was little interest and thought to bid but ultimately I would prefer the 5326 over the time only 5226.

Nonetheless, a great reference it should be available if OP doesn’t mind waiting a bit.

Yes, 5326G is one of the most gorgeous timepiece, the secondary market price would be a lot higher than MSRP.

Though it’s not my first, I think that it makes a perfect first Patek. Easy to wear, versatile, great size, great case.

It's simply amazing that virtually no pictures do this dial justice. It really needs to be seen in person to appreciate the beauty of the texture with slight gold glistening. I can't wait to get mine in the next month or two. Congrats.

The macro shots kind of make the dial look like asphalt. Need to see one IRL.

Looks great! How easy is it to change the buckle when you change straps?
