RG vs YG durability

hi,i'm looking forward to buy Daydate 36
however i have consideration regarding the durability,it's said that rolex's rosegold (everose) would not change colour (no oxidation) but on the yellow gold model i've seen some of it has like red-ish mark (oxidized) i know after some polishing it would go off,but i don't like my watch being polsihed.
is there any opinion on this ? i also heard that yellow gold oxidation only appears on safe queen pieces (never taken out).

I believe RG contains a mix of palladium to keep the colour stable due to the higher mix of silver and copper to produce the RG colour. Same with WG which is why they tend to be more expensive than their YG counterparts.

I believe Rolex changed their YG mix about 3 years ago, older pictures of for example a YG GMT green dial will highlight a much strong yellow hue, compared to the lighter YG look now. Nobody definitively knows how this is achieved but I suspect they are using a different mix of silver and palladium possibly to bring in that lighter hue and keep YG durable and stable for the lifetime of the watch.

Comparing YG watches from the 70's and 80's to todays mixes is a bit like apples and pears. You shouldn't have any issues.

Yeah and one other thing to note, if you did buy a vintage YG watch you can remove tarnish using a jewelers cloth, it’s not the same as a full on polish at all.
