Assuming your post is true, the most accurate description would be: "It's happening to you in the geographic area you live in."

As for the rest of us, it's happening when it happens.

Not so fast.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ameri...124955798.html

I'm guessing AMEX customers are better represented on this board than in the general population. I personally have a Chase Sapphire which is quite popular among us middle management types, but my leadership does tend to favor AMEX at the Director and VP level. Going out to dinner it's fun when everyone tosses their cards in the middle of the table and you can see what everyone is using.

Exactly Anecdotal story from one person has never been a sign of anything

It's definitely happening....

Secondary market prices lowering is “definitely happening” but the bottom sure as sh*t hasn’t fallen out yet.

Unless Rolex makes MSRP for SS models like submariners and gmts 15k, seeing one for sale in a window won’t happen.

As for at least Americans still spending despite caution to do so based on current economic conditions…maybe the habits we picked up over the last few years are hard to put down?

Let’s revisit this thread, in say November, and see where we are.

This happened recently! Got a text asking if I knew anyone that would be interested so I said me!

Heard that the original customer found one elsewhere. Lucky me!

Two weeks ago, I posted here about a local AD (not my primary AD) which lost it's Rolex affiliation as of Jan 1. My SA there still had "a few pieces left" in the safe, one of which was a gold Sub ($39K) which she was pushing hard to sell me. I passed. She also had a TT Explorer 36, and a couple of misc diamond pieces.

But that was an unusual circumstance, due to losing AD status.

Smart move. 'Used' prices on the forced-buy ALS pieces not really wanted will be around 60% msrp retail or thereabouts. We've been down this road before, so going by historic norms there's no need to rush in buying just yet. For ALS, I'd wait until Q3 2023 to reassess the market direction. Might be Q2 2024 as a near bottom that could last about six months.

Then a slow rise that could take years. Typical cycle / wave.

Couldnt agree more.

Some of us in smaller markets that only have 1 A.D here and there its the same ol same ol. I did get a text for a TT Chocolate YM last week. Passed. Thankfully I am finally in a mindset of I just dont care or need another watch. I have too many as is and find myself wearing the same 3 over and over while many others just sit.

I still log into TRF alot but there is not one model I'm chasing. Yes a 505 is on the want list but I'm not even sure I'd say yes if I were offered one in 5 minutes. 40k plus on a watch or 40k plus kept to get me one step closer to no more work.

Not a hard choice really

TT Explorer 1, TT DateJust Wimbledon, YM 37, TT Sea-Dweller, DayDate YG, Sky-Dweller on Oysterflex and some Ladies DateJust's. Nothing amazing but its happening slowly.

So you "walked past" and didn't qualify if they were exhibition pieces or "for sale"?

Nice!!!!

Got my wife the same watch from Tappers right before Christmas and she loves it- they had the two tone rose and steel available, after about a 3 month wait.

No.
My AD is clear that if the items in the window have prices they are in stock and for sale, it’s a simple process.
I could have walked in and brought any of them items I listed.

Wow, lucky guy! A huge congrats! I'm still waiting on a call from my grocer. I suspect you have a pretty big buying history with your store though. Enjoy!

Things have definitely cooled down on just about everything in the past few months. Easier to find watches, cars, jewelry, real estate at lower prices than they were just not too long ago. Things are definitely not at fire sale or giveaway prices, but are lower. Also, you have some negotiation power on certain items as well if you're a buyer. Where before, the only offer you could make was one that was higher than the asking price!

You are going to love the TRX. If you go to the TRX forums you will see they are available at or below MSRP. It is a truly a fun and useful car. Just don’t put your arm on the plate on the console when it is hot or you will get branded.

I gave up reading car mags when they went full tilt on electrics so I was not familiar with the TRX and had to look it up. Holy F#$K! I kinda want one now.

Who knew I needed a 702 HP pickup? You know, for Home Depot runs.
